That one woman was complaining that her parents were moving around in their own house and doing the housekeeping for her.
I pay in money and mental health, thankfully i am on my way out
Non immigrant here, left at 19 and never went back. My adult brother is still home and he’s a full adult. No real restrictions.
I told my mom I'd rather end my life than move back with my family 😂, and I'm standing on it! My mental health isn't perfect, but it's manageable since I'm out of her house
I know once my husband and I get a house I want a small second home on our property and the initial intent was for parents but it would be a good idea for any of our kids we may have if they needed to move back home or something. That way we can help out but our child can have their own space and privacy (and hopefully not hate us real fast). I would charge rent (this is if they’re an adult) but that money would be going into a savings account that would be returned to our child once they moved out so that way they have a nest egg to help them out. I don’t like the idea of earning money off my child or using their hard earned money unless that’s the only way I can afford for them to live with us. If a parent is taking their child’s money just because that’s awful
It’s just terrible. Any time something doesn’t go their way, my father is just like this is my house and if you don’t like it, get out. Obviously, I don’t have another place to go so it’s like forcing me to be give up myself or be homeless. There is no compassion that you kid yourself that parents have. It’s like a betrayal when you see that they don’t care about you at all.
I just move out on Valentine’s Day. I can’t really afford it but I’ll make a way. I fully furnished my apt in under a month. It’s so freeing. I’m broke but so much happier.
Bro i thought it was just me
I thought I was going experience a empty nest. 😢. I guess a little longer. I want my kids to be safe.
Is this a joke? You can always go to a shelter!
I was still charged rent and lost my mental heath 😪
My two younger children who are both in their 20s have moved back home to save money. With everything going on in the world I can’t imagine making them feel bad for a horrible economy, pandemic… I’m that parent that enjoys spoiling them and they enjoy being spoiled. A few of these stories are traumatizing and I wish for you all to be encouraged.❤
Bro I moved out and never looked back. My parents were pissed
I moved out of my parents cause of my mental health but then moved in with someone where my mental health is almost worse
We are very fortunate to have a great relationship with our adult daughters but when one of them had to move back in with us shortly after the last one moved out, it was hard. She wasn't the only one feeling like she couldn't do what she wanted. We couldn't either. I got to feeling like, I've worked for so hard and so long and now I'm retired and I STILL can't walk around my own house without a bra or whatever coz she might have friends over. It was frustrating. So y'all, it's a two-way street. We lovvvve our daughters, but at some point we are ready to have our own space to ourselves too.
If yall so unhappy at home, leave. Rent a room, stay in your car, and stack money or whatever you need to do. Your parent's house, their rules, simple. The audacity of a GUEST in another person's home smh
I get it, my dad has wanted me to move back for years. I want to walk around naked, smoke if I want, have visitors. Can’t do that with my parents
You cannot pay rent mentally. Not because you can coin a term to fit your situation doesn’t justify it.
This is such bs. Imagine having to work 50hrs a week and pay bills. THAT f*cks with your mental health. Sitting on your butt in your childhood bedroom is a joke.
Would this be the same response if THEIR parent's came to stay with them? Everyone has house rules, so do their parent's get to complain about YOUR rules since they moved in with you?🤔
As a parent and grandparent I will tell you that we pay with our mental health and endanger our retirement to try to help you out. then I hear people hating on the parents because the world is hard. It is hard for them too. When you live under your roof there boundaries when you move in. “ I want your help mommy but I want you to change your live and routines for me. Don’t expect me to respect how you do things and want your life to be.” Go out on the street if you don’t want to do things in their home in a way that leaves their life the way they want life to be. They are already adjusting life for a grown ass adult. You want it your way go. You will save your parents mental health.
I live with my mother and sister. Its chaotic but screw my mental health. I saved over $20 000 last year. That matters more to me.
Going back to live with my parents destroyed me, I really hope never to have to do that again. and I wouldn't wish it to my worst enemy. I sill love them 😀
AND I had to pay 30% of my income as rent
9:45 – 11:00 This lady 😂❤❤😂
When I got my big girl job that I prepared for in college, I was completely on my own. I moved out and only came back for short visits. I couldn’t ask for a dime. I never had a choice to move back home. I had to make it on my own. Thankfully, they gave me the tools to be financially independent.
I think they are terribly entitled and narcissistic. If your parents LET you live with them instead of watching you fail and live on the street. Respect your parents or live on a park bench. The 1st video she was a total slob and her parents still let her live there.
Love your videos, thank you so much!
Left a dislike only because i think leaving someone because they are poor is not right, as long as you both are trying its ok
If you’re not happy at your parents house ‘ then sleep in your car .. stop complaining. You have a choice .
Have to say Dee I love your shirt and your scarf and hairstyle today (every day haha) you are so beautiful!!! Your earrings are so pretty too! Absolutely love your fashion ☺️👯♀️ you’re a beautiful queen! 👑
Both my parents were abusive so i had to move out at 17 and could never move back in with either of them. My mom herself is homeless as far as I know as she has serious drug and mental health problems…. And I briefly moved back in with my dad in 2018-2019 due to finances after my first divorce and he threw a giant pile of tools and other heavy objects at me…. And that’s when I knew it was time to go again and knew i made a HUGE mistake by ever moving back. I couldn’t take the physical violence. I wish some people would realize it’s not an option for everyone. I would literally rather be in the shelter than take that physical violence again. No one should have to put up with domestic abuse just for free rent 😢
And my abusive parents were both white Americans who were born and raised in America…. And neither of them are Christian’s and I am a Christian…So these issues go beyond race or culture or religion and affect everyone. I do have to say I’m kind of jealous of people who can live with their parents without physical abuse or drug problems… I feel like my problems are so much more severe than the average person! 🫠
Im an adult orphan but i work double hard to make sure we never have to move in with my mother in law….she's a living nightmare. I'd rather work 5 jobs then live with her. If you have your own place hold onto it. Living w/parents and in laws sucks, I'm sorry but it just does.
