Incredible view from the top! I summited 20 years ago BUT when we arrived at the summit for sunrise the clouds completely socked us in! No view at all! I do remember the energy needed to get up there and the fatigue in descending! Great video!!

I almost died on that mountain in 2016. We got lost at night because my guide forgot the headlamps. We foolishly climbed the summit on the second day from Miriakamba Hut and had to descend at night, were we were totally lost until the moon rose at around 1am. When we saw where we were, we had to climb back up to the ridge for hours because we went downhill to the left while trying to find the path at night. I was extremly exhausted from the lack of oxygen and also lack of fitness because I had suffered from typhoid shortly before. I was really reckless back then…

Nice. When I climbed Meru in 2016 the sun came up straight behind Kilimanjaro and a white carpet of clouds covered the world underneath Socialist Peak. Greetings from Germany.
