One sought to rid herself of her enemies and increase her territorial holdings, another – to cut her homeland off from foreign influence, and the third introduced a new ideology. Each of them was certain of their righteousness.

  1. The monotonous Y-DNA test does not suggest any broad matrachy society has ever existed.

If you research a specific people, the males' Y DNA onlt trace back to a very limited amount of males. This only proves that some males has dominated society and was able to make their DNA copies. Which is totally opposite of so called female dominance society.

  2. If anyone watches Rick and Morty I think the episode where Rick and Summer went to another planet where women ruled and they sent the men away b because they just wasn’t feminine enough lol this is different I think this is more of female rulers who still had men to listen to at the end so lol idk

  3. Mosuo, minangkabau, quero, khasi, bijagos, juchitan, kihnu, bribri… these are some matriarchies that came to my mind right now.

The ones in the video are not matriarchies, they are women who ruled patriarchies

  4. Women make the worst leaders. Women cannot control their emotions for at least one week every month. Look at what Angela Merkel has done to Germany in a few short years. Women don't even like women

  5. Female rulers isn't a matriarchy, it's just a monarchy. Matriarchy is when women are organisationally dominant against men via creating a category for some traits that are favored in society, and giving them the name "feminine", thereby implying that men are lesser. This would really in things such as women holding higher pay on average, along with easier access in to areas on status, such as political parties, and giving women more rights to vote, and so on

  6. This is what they don't understand about matriarchy.. a female ruler does not mean the a matriarchy :l

I live in a country that follows a matriarchal system. A matriarchal system/society that has most rulers men and majority of labor force. Power here is earned by motherhood.. women are the men here.. women call the shots.. men follows. Men take care, provide, and follow their mom and their wives.

  7. matriarchal society never last long. It dies very quickly. yes there are women who lead like a man but they are few.

By nature, women are helpers and men are leaders, protectors, providers, teachers, disciplinaries, etc. men are the ones who look at the wellbeing of women and children.

  8. Matriarchy’s for most of human history have been relatively lackluster and unable to sustain success for prolonged periods of time. This can be explained in our innate biological nature where men in general are meant to lead and women follow m.

  9. 1) Wu Mei isn’t Zetian’s given name, Meiniang (媚娘) was given by Taizong. Her given name is unknown but it might be Zhao (照) because her later name was Zhao (written with a character 曌 made by Wu Zhao herself)
    2) Her Dynasty was not named “Zhao” (I actually had the same mistake at first) but rather “Zhou” (or more specifically, “Wu Zhou”), referencing the ancient Zhou Dynasty. Her dynasty is also called “Southern Zhou dynasty”, “Second Zhou dynasty” or “Restored Zhou dynasty”

  10. Dude, this is nothing more than highlighting different female rulers throughout history. This isn’t about matriarchal societies. Because matriarchies are inferior to patriarchies. Which is why none have survived.
