  1. I sit here thinking my life is hard yet when i watch this i see how blessed i am, no one should ever go through this , my heart breaks for her ,left feeling so helplesss .I hope this brings the much needed awareness , our little sisters need us to save them

  2. This is an abomination! These are children. I in no way would have been ready for any marriage at 14???? And a MOTHER?! DEAR GOD PLEASE HELP THIS COME TO AN END. Im in Canada, I feel like I live in a bubble. But believe me I have my struggles here. Housing prices have shot thrive through the roof. Food, had gas, electricity EVERY THING HAS INCREASED WITH NO END IN SIGHT. PEOPLE ARE TRULY STRUGGLING! But living life like theses people is a different level .😢😢😢😢 makes me want to cry for the women. 😢

  3. The sadness in this little girl strikes through😢As a mom of young girls myself, no matter how poor I can be, selling them off to a pa€dophile will never be an option. The best she could’ve done is to make sure she supports her as much as she possibly can, to buy time while she’s still healthy & alive, because now the little girl is facing to be a $€>< slave to an old man & a carer to another d¥ing woman who will soon be accompanied by that animal of an old sick man😡😡😡

  4. This is not culture, what does a 40y old to 60y old have in common with a 14y old nothing besides been a slave and having sex with them.
Its disturbing and in this 20th century is still going on and will forever more, because politicians dont care .
My heart goes out to these young girls they sold like cattle to breed.

  5. When my friends (white) got married in Botswana, we attended two weddings. One local in the Kgotla and one that we know. In the Kgotla the minister told my friend that at all times, she had to be there for her husbands pleasure and obey him at any time. We gasped! Another curious one was that the only time she could object in financial topics, was when he took out more cash then 10000 Pula, which is about 1000 €. Below that he was entitled to the money. Both had to sign the marriage paper that stated her "yes" to all the topics.
This was in Botswana, 2012. Botswana is one of the few thriving and economic, political stable country with very good education programs and democracy for the people. Zambia is just above Botswana and is the complete oposite.

  6. They are being forced, its not that they want to get married. They dont want to disrespect the elders thats why they agree, I mean they are little girls how does a child stand and fight an adult.. Girls die giving birth etc.. I

  7. Personally I think we need to shaming these people and start looking at the root problem that is the rate of poverty and the economy. Being a woman who was born and raised in a 3rd world country in Africa, though I am very blessed to have been well off, I have seen many unfortunate circumstances and sad ways of living due to not having a means to act otherwise. We need to remember that most of these people grow up with this being okay, so of course they are going to be comfortable with it and probably joking around, it’s a way of living for most. Though it is sad and disgusting, the families are also victims not only the daughters, EVERYTHING about this is sad; so I just want to urge you to stop being angry at the people who are doing all they can do to survive and start looking at those in power who are greedy and corrupt and forcing families to trade their dignity and values for their next meal.

  8. @VICE News This person who is narrating the video in Zambia is terrible. Instead of asking for help, or looking for the authorities, to prevent this marriage of a girl with a 48-year-old man from taking place, she doesn't stop asking the girl non sense questions. She can be accused of neglect by witnessing that a minor was being married to an adult man and did nothing to prevent it. How awful. This is why the world is how it is.

  9. I’m in complete agreement she’s devastated this is so sad. It’s disgusting, these women deserve so much more than this and this CHILD deserves so much more. That’s respect not the custom!
