Whether you self-identify as Boricua🇵🇷, Dominican🇩🇴, Mexican🇲🇽, Colombian🇨🇴 or Cuban🇨🇺, youre cultural, dance, cuisine, spiritual systems & language has roots with THE MOORS, who were Islamic Africans, who left North Africa (Mauritania, Morocco, Algiers, Tunis & Tripoli around 711 A.D.), and established a Civilization there called Al-Andalus (Andalusia), which was on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain🇪🇦 & Portugal🇵🇹) which lasted for about 800 years, & helped the Europeans escape the Dark Ages, have a Renaissance, & the Age of Enlightenment.
Moors were already over here in the Americas & the Caribbean, & yes, there was a MIXTURE between those Africans, & the Africans forcibly transported to the Americas, who practiced Yoruba, Voodoo, etc !
The Moors classic language was LATIN, but we dealt in Arabic too, which was the language of TRADE & COMMERCE !
Most words in Español that start with "Al", come from Arabic !
Spanish last names that begin or end with "Es" or "Ez", are MOORISH, in origin ! Ortega, also comes from the Moors !
