Earlier this month, more than 80 parties and civic groups called on the military leadership to hold presidential elections as soon as possible.

Mali has been under military rule since a coup nearly three years ago.

  1. This commentator has no clue about the real situation on the ground. The population are the ones who called onto the army in Mali. It’s shameful on Aljazeera to fail to invite serious people on their platform. Mali has never been better now than in the last 10 years of western led chaos

  2. He is talking about democracy but knows nothing about it. Democracy is not for Africa, even the west doesn't respect their so call democracy. It is sad to see how black man has been manipulate against his own people. Do we need to hold an election when the country is not yet stable?
Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso will be holding election when the country would have more stability…

  3. Bro you sound so stupid and dumb what has democracy brought to Africa nothing but chaos, poverty, division, corruption and hatred. Democracy is nothing but the same colonialism and slavery wrapped up in this fake democracy

  4. Elections. Elections. The Deep States and UN want to Zelensky Mali. Be Careful. It is not more the liberation of Malians, AES or Africans, but the Black Race starting from AES. Slava AES

  5. I support Mali ❤ Love from Myanmar Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army ARSA Senior Captain 🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲 free free free 💪💪Palestine 💪❤

  6. As an African I prefer to be ruled by military government then corrupt civil politicians who only enriched themselves and their immediate family and friends.

  7. a lot of noise about it coming from the same old political class and the imperialists who put Mali in the mess it was in. 10 years and nobody heard this nonsense till now.

  8. The west usually brings their puppets on a platform like this. Democracy has been used to destabilise Africa by the same people preaching it to us. There should be no elections in Mali. Mali needs stability not election-based democracy which causes unrest.

  9. These reporters only make biased reports. Mali's Junta is very popular to date. Most citizens want the army to remain in power, at least in the short run. The so called "democratic elections" that the west is advocating is only meant to install a puppet leader there.
Finally, Mali's relationship with Russia is not toxic, it allows them to push imperialists out of their country. After all, Russia was one of the countries that supported their war of independence.
So simply put, kindly stop using these biased and westernized correspondents, who have no idea about the real feelings/situation on the ground

  10. Democracy is not the most important thing for advancement. It’s good governance that advance the people that is the most important.
What this comment or is asking for does not align with what the people of Mali want. People are not protesting Russia’s presence.

  11. I don't blame the Junta. All the so called political parties and their leaders are nothing but agents of the colonies, sellouts, and puppets; because, when we vote for them, the serve the interest of themselves and some overseas powers. The First Lady of Sierra Leone has started to speak out now from her first hand experience of how African leaders are controlled, intimidated and bullied by Western powers to give in to their demands for cheap. Such remark coming from the wife of a sitting president, speaks volume that the president himself is feeling some extended pressure.

  12. The majority of melanated people across the across the Globe. Want Mali to be sovereign. We support the Junta To be free from puppetry Inferior activity And stand for the freedom of Africa live and direct Throughout the continent. God bless the motherland
