MADAGASCAR VLOG: Meeting King Julien! || 18 Day Africa Cruise

Truly living out my 8-year-old-self’s best Madagascar life!!! Join me on an excursion offered through my cruise to Nosy Komba, or Lemur Island, in Madagascar! Experience the culture, meet the lemurs, & let’s have a chat & see some entertainment on the ship!

xoxo,
Gracie

  1. King Julien is awesome! We have a black cat named Ziggy and my kids would've been calling King Julien a Ziggy-lemur, which all black animals get named. There are Ziggy-squirrels at Niagara Falls lol. Wonderful trip! Beautiful country!

  2. Gracie glad you had a chance to see the hardships of other peoples’ lives. You’re so young and clearly had a moment of respect and appreciation for their struggles. Please remember those and be active with less fortunate people in the US, and do something to support them as an American with privilege. We all can support and help poverty. And now that you are aware and have had an emotional experience, maybe it’s time to help join the fight against those that aren’t able to experience what we have. I appreciate your talk and your vlog. I share this with the most love and hope you receive it that way. Love & support you girl!❤😊

  3. I've been on a cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu (from Australia) and i had the same eye opening experience with an island called Wala. The kids seemed sooo happy with just playing volleyball with us visitors…. I've been on 7 cruises and when i am working out the upfront cost, it normally ends up being $100 a day… I think that is always a pretty good deal! 👌 💖

  4. I agree that we are so fortunate to have so much when others don't. I think that we should be so grateful and thankful to God for what he provides to us.
Those singers were so good, I can understand why you love them so much. You totally should sing with them.
Love that you are haivng such a great time. I am hoping to go on a river cruise within the next year.

  5. I spent a long time in Uganda building a school and I would love to see you go back to Africa not on a cruise- it’s an amazing place and you can’t truly experience it through a cruise! I think that’d be a really cool video- obviously not alone but def something I know I would personally like to see!! I am biased but I recommend East Africa, the people there changed my life for the better 🙂

  6. Gracie didn’t romanticize anything. She shared a small glimpse of what life was like there, as part of a tourist excursion, which provides income for that area and the people who live there. Instead of choosing to see the negative, see it as a positive. Sharing what she sees allows the rest of the world a glimpse into reality there.

  7. There is no circumstance when you should be taking pictures and POSTING local children. Don’t romanticize poverty and participate in white savior complex 🙄🙄🙄

  8. Beautifully done video! Loved when the lemurs got up close and personal and perched on your shoulders and let you feed them! I’m always so happy when I see that and when it happens to me w/ animals. I take it to mean the animals trust me and consider me a friend and it feels so good! You’re also right about the happiness factor and how it’s always a great idea to keep things in perspective about that. So happy you are enjoying your trip and thank you so much for sharing this with us!

  9. SO true about the happiness factor. My mom traveled a LOT before having me. She said the happiest people she ever encountered were some of the "poorest". Nepal was one of her favs.

  10. Hi Gracie! Love your channel. Have fun in the Seychelles, it's amazing there😍 If you have the change you need to visit La dique Island. It's beautiful there🏝️
