Macron dissolves national assembly for snap poll after EU election results

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, said he would dissolve France’s parliament and call new legislative elections after his centrist list was beaten in EU elections by Marine Le Pen’s far-right party. ‘I cannot pretend as if nothing happened,’ said Macron, acknowledging the results were a disaster for his government.

  1. Never crosses Macron, or others, the direction they are taking, mainly with immigration IMO, is not the direction the people want. Same thing here in the US.

  2. MACRON CAN'T LOSE THE PRESIDENCY ! THAT'S NOT HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS IN FRANCE. To all the hundreds ignorant fools commenting on this, you should know Macron is the "President" not a Prime Minister. The election will decide the predominant party, NOT The President.

  3. Tous ces commentaires ridicules sur la politique française et sur les opinions du peuple français, de la part d'étrangers ignorants et stupides qui devraient s'occuper de leurs affaires jusqu'à ce qu'ils sachent de quoi ils parlent. si jamais.

  4. Macron’s decision to call a snap parliamentary vote comes after the right-wing National Rally (RN) party, with Marine Le Pen as the figurehead, won around 31% of the vote in Sunday’s European Parliament election. That was more than double the 14.6% seen for Macron’s pro-European and centrist Renaissance party and its allies. /// Macron's party Lost Badly in Sunday's election… Macron calls for 2nd election like a sore loser trying to cheat the system so his Right leaning rival Marine Le Pen's party Victory on Sunday's vote is cancelled.

  5. Hat tip to Europe.. No party in the US would call for an election if they fell out of power.. They would hold on with a death grip and insider trade the market as long as they could… or even steal an election at 3am

  6. La Pen plus Trump is the start of a new right, pity the British got their timing wrong and we had to support Boris who wasted an 80 seat majority

  7. So, Far-Right is the label assigned to anyone or poltical party that does not comply with the Globalist Socialist Agenda and narratives?

These people and oarties are actually Libertarian Conservatives who believe in small government, low taxes, direct national democracy where the political decision makers serve their citizens first instead of first serving unelected globalist authoritarians.

  8. Not such things are democracy and popular choices nowadays. There is no respect for voters or opinions, no differences between dictatorial regimes or so-called democracy
