  1. "part of what allows the air to be so thin is the fact that you've only got two USB-C ports and a headphone jack". No, Kyle, this argument is completely invalid. Apple could make an air with more usb-c and sd card slot. Even maybe with an HDMI, while keeping it that thin. But this would question the reason to exist of the pro models. Need more ports? Be ready to pay the premium.

  2. I’m in the market for a new laptop so I’ve been absorbing these comparisons like crazy. (For me it’s 14” MBP vs 15” MBA) I’m 99% on the Air but the only thing I haven’t seen anyone talk about (and I’m not sure if we even have the data to know this) is longevity. My current MacBook Pro has lasted me 10 years. The only thought bringing me back to the potential of the Pro is that the active cooling may make the internal parts last longer but no one has really mentioned anything like that and I think it’s partially because we don’t know the lifespan of these new M chips since they are so new. How long before they aren’t powerful enough? How long before they start to degrade? How long will Apple actually support each chip? We won’t know some of this stuff for a couple more years BUT IT STILL BUGS MY OCD! 😂

  3. nah, the crappy display is a definitely no😂mini oled macbook pro is already bad compared to actually oled, no to say the display on air, and it's not even pro motion😂

  4. Great video!! The only thing I wish the air had is 120hz+ refresh rate. Outside of that I have no reason to opt for the pro as the advancements in the air fully support my needs and more (heavy productivity workflows + light photoshop)

  5. Best on M3 Air is the price of M1 and M2 Airs.
For people using these machines there is absolutely no performance difference whatsoever. Get an M2 or even M1 for very attractive prices.
Honestly, I used the M1 Air for full stack web development and even 3D modelling (fusion) and can't see much difference between it and my new M3 Pro Macbook Pro 14" (M3 Pro chip, not base one). I just wanted to spend money because of tax deductions and yeah, support for ultrawidescreen 5K2K monitors (which Air supports just fine, ableit not at maximum scaled resolution).

So, if you are doing anything except for very demanding stuff like video compositions in After Effects, Davinci, or high end 3D modelling, Unity/Unreal Engine or AI training models, get the M2 Air. Upgrade to 16/512 and be done with it.

  6. My question. What is the issue of scratches or scrapes from connectors etc? Does the black paint scratch and come off and you can see the silver underneath?

  7. I noticed mine gets pretty hot on the bottom without really doing much. Is that normal since it’s passive cooling and is it something to be concerned about regarding the hardware under the hood?

  8. I have and love my M1 MacBook Air.. just wish it had MagSafe. Speed and the 8gb RAM have been a non-issue. it's stupid fast and never hangs up. I mainly use safari and video streaming apps though.. no editing of any kind.

  9. I purchased a Macbook Pro M3 Pro 18GB having come from a Macbook Air M2 16GB. I did not see any improvements, just additional bulk. I was hoping the additional memory helped. I decided to return the Macbook Pro and purchase a Macbook Air M3 with 24GB memory.

  10. MacBook Air doesn’t have a fan. Another note is that most of us will be financing a macbook. 50usd a month for decent spec MacBook Air and 65usd a month for a decent spec MacBook Pro. I think the extra $15 a month is big game changer.

  11. Thanks this was helpful as I've been waffling between the 15" air and the 14" Pro. What is important to me is the support for external displays and the M3 PRO doesn't support 2, and won't until a software update I've read.

  12. I have the M1 Pro 14 inch. Great machine. But if they ever come out with an Air with USB C on BOTH sides and a mini led option I’d really have to think about it.
