AWARD-WINNING Ghanaian rapper, Lyrical Joe is at it again. It is that time of the year and he is gifting his fans with yet another new single to mark his birthday which fell on Monday, August 5.

This year’s release, 5th August 8, marks the eighth instalment in the 5th August series, which began in 2017 and tells the story of Lyrical Joe’s growth as a rapper and his reflections on personal and societal issues.
Lyrical Joe, who won the 2022 Â TGMA’s Best Rap Performance award for 5th August 5, shares his experiences and challenges in his pursuit of success on 5th August 8.
The song, a thought-provoking one, explores themes of self-reflection, ambition and resilience.
5th August 8, produced by Phredxter, showcases a blend of clever wordplay, metaphors, and punchlines that demand repeat listens to fully appreciate.
A punchline of the song goes like this: âRapping in English became ugly. You left and came back as soon as we made it pretty. All of a sudden, I see they tryna sound OG. I’m sharing my journey with my fans on this song so they can take inspiration from it and grow too.”
