I looked up the scandal that Lizzo is involved in and I gotta say that it sounds like total bullshit.
The people involved were given the option to go to the Red Light District and enter into a sex-themed club. Most likely everyone was drinking and of course in that particular setting, people are going to encourage others to touch the performers. Being in a club designated for sexual acts and expressions of sexuality is literally the most appropriate place for anyone to encourage others to be sexual. Especially when inhibitions are lowered by alcohol. I mean, it's just common sense. What did they think they were going to do in the Red Light District? Discuss Chaucer over tea wearing ten layers of clothing and sitting six feet apart?
And sure, it's not appropriate to go to those types of clubs with your bos or coworkers. But then the obvious answer is to simply say "no thank you." If they really felt that pressured in going, then I think there needs to be evidence shown of exactly what this pressure entailed. Because by legal standards, there is nothing unethical about being obnoxious and pestering someone. But it is illegal to use coercion in the form of threats (e.g., loss of job, reduced wages, physical harm, etc.) So unless Lizzo actually threatened them, then this whole thing is just moot. And even if they tried to claim psychological damages, they would still need to submit valid proof of ongoing abuse or spontaneous acts of abuse.
Honestly, this entire scandal just sounds like something created as a method of petty revenge.
