  1. Brother, I really, really like this pod cast program you produced ! Thank you very much ! I myself am a Liberian born, now living abroad and will be coming back home to Liberia. I am very aware about the problems of the Country. Particularly for me, I am very concern about the electricity issue. I am sure, since I grew up in Monrovia and few other Counties, I can just about handle anything I might face, good or bad but the light issue I think I may find very troubling for me for so many reasons. Even if I get a generator for my place, I still fear how LEC will perform because I won't be able to run the generator all day and all night but I guess I will see. That's my very main concern. I have potential to bring some help to the young people through certain programs I hope to establish but the light issue is a big concern for me. Again, Thank you for your show.

  2. What I dislike about Liberia is, Liberians look to the government to do what they can do for themselves, that is having a mindset of keeping your own environment clean. Liberian blamed that on the government. Anther is ,no system can survive in Liberia. The laws are there but never implemented. Liberians over look law enforcement officers because of corruption in the justice system. Liberians we need to learn from other Countries around us and see what we can bring home to give a 16:10 face lift to the beauty of our mother land.

  3. The biggest problem is education. You can talk about economy all you want, but if the kids don't learn to write their name under an employment contract, there's no economy. Alot of kids can't afford school and I'm staring at the government 😐

  4. My dream and wish for the past 50 years was to visit Liberia. My college roommate was the second cousin to President William Tolbert. I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting President Tolbert when he came to Fairleigh Dickenson University to receive his Honorary Degree. That happened November 9th 1974. My roommate knew the President's entire entourage of diplomats. It was the experience of my life. We were two broke college students hanging out with the President of Liberia. lol President Tolbert made sure my roommate had enough money to buy her winter clothing and presented me with a "V" Ring of which I still have. In 1979 I got my papers in order to travel to Liberia for a visit. SIX MONTHS after I was prepared to come that THING named DOE flipped that country upside down. My roommate went back to Liberia after Charles Taylor took office and wound up having to run out of Liberia with nothing but the clothing on her back. I met her at the airport when she arrived back in the USA. As a result of that my parents added my roommate to their "Will" so that she would never have to worry about a place to live if things went bad for her in the USA or any other place. She would have a place to live.

However after Charles Taylor made a mess I changed my mind about coming to Liberia. I was very close to being there when Doe invaded. I know how to prepare all the Liberian dishes. After 50 years of eating and preparing this wonderful food I have introduced it to many Americans. There is not one person that I have presented Liberian food to that didn't like it. I am 68 years old now and just lost my Mother who lived to be 102 and was at home with the family. She often reflected on the experience of eating food from Africa and she loved it. My family has offered to send me to Liberia after the long care that I gave my Mother. I may reconsider. That will only happen with all advice from my roommate of who has plenty of family there that already knows my name. God Bless you and Liberia.

  5. The food is not good compared to other African countries in fact I've been all over West Africa and eaten food from all over Africa and Liberian food is probably the least exciting. Its not that great.

  6. The question is why doesn't Liberia grow their own food? I advise anyone here to take a lil time to research the history between Liberia and america. Look at their flag. Especially African Americans.

  7. This was very interesting to watch. Thanks for posting. I’ve never visited but always wanted to go. I’m a 1st gen Liberian-American with two Liberian parents ❤
