Majority of the countries in Africa were not prosper country for the reasons we all knew included your country. If it’s Nigeria and let look: According to World Bank OCT 17, 2022 — Nigeria's hunger level 'serious,' ranks 103 out of 121 countries … According to the World Bank, in its latest 2022 Poverty and Prosperity Report … Let see what is about security. According to USA states Department <Reconsider travel to Nigeria due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, and maritime crime. Some areas have increased risk>. Before you talk trash about someone else country think again!
I have live in this country that is lacking objective governance. A lot of suffering for the people there
VERY FEW PEOPLE IN CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIC. IT SHOW HOW PEOPLE DIE DUE TO POVERTY. SO SAD
You Nigerians like belittling other African countries.. Nigeria is no different from car oh drc stop acting like y'all better than others also by the way she talks you can see she's making some things up to make the country look bad ..

Which is the telecom in that country ? Do you have mobile money ? Also can I please the contacts for the central bank in CAR?
African countries should help people of central African republic their country is rich in timber and diamonds but there is lots of violence , no roads, people need schools and education , if that country needs development they need to abolish French and switch to Swahili and English , end libellions , and concentrate on their countries development.
France messed that country for Good , its very disturbing police is very corrupt, and road blocks every where stealing coins from locals, very forested with useless minerals , every body carrying machets in mboki, Bangassou, zamio, and Bambari , there is avry big river called mbomu its where locals catch fish and eat it with ugali, very lawless country where local people suffer most at hards of corrupt govt with colonialism french mind set , its sad .
Your speaking the truth , that country needs help , in Bangassou I saw a person eating monkey meat and another group of 4 men killed a cat cooked it clean and they got an easy meal , its very disturbing ,, I will never forget , got lost in the deep forest for a week with no food I came to find out I was in national park I thought I would never live again and I would die their, I remember I cried loud for God to hear me the day I sleept on a cold river in a national park with out knowing , a hunter rescued me , police stole all my money and sold me for my organs in Bangassou acatholic priest called fr. fidel saved me , i think he is now in France or Spain
By your accent I can tell you ladies must be from Nigeria/ Gambia/ Kenya or Ghana.
Central African Republic is not different from other African countries though, I was born there but live most of my life in the USA 🇺🇸.
Quit acting like you’re better than others Africans, go out and meet the locals, there are many cool people out there I bet
Thanks so much for this video! You both seem like such smart, funny, down to earth women. I'm thinking about taking a job in CAR but don't know much about the country so this was very helpful. Thanks! 😀

A very beautiful country the natives don't know, C. A. R should be a rich and wealthy country surpassing "sister country",, Kenya by size . the country is landlocked and isolated, has no identity in the world , limited nor isolated by regional economic blocks, the poor colonial master cannot make the country Great in anyway not even by school system nor francophone
BLAME THE WEST. That is why Africa has to unite. WHERE IS the AU ? And the rest of Africa….It is because of their resources…
Hilarious! We all collectively gasped when she said they aren't fond of rice! Rice is almost as important as Fufu, and plantain. But honestly I'd rather have ground ration and starch fruits. More nutrition. But rice is idespensible.
Great topic, obviously very sensitive, the responses and inside conversations were a bit confusing. It almost begs what was the point of the interview if someone can only give a very generic description. Even the specific example of walking in twos…a follow up would have been, why? Or, can you elaborate on any occurrences that you witnessed first hand. Thank you.
I am from Central Africa Republic….born and raised in Bangui…lived there 5 years before moving to europe…Belgium ..France and now living almost 22 years in Holland…been back home many times…it s true what you are saying …outside Bangui the life is ruff…but if you have a little bit of finance you can live comfortably in the capital …i am planning to move back to africa…6 months in my country and 6 months in Abidjan (ivory coast)…I am tired of the life here …every thing is structured but too much stress…i am planning my moving back to africa…i have Dutch citizenship sinds my 18 birthday so i can travel outside africa when i want…europe is not for me anymore…maybe for hollydays and only in the summer..then i go back to africa..
You r so quuuuuuuetttt
I take every video I see about a foreign place with a grain of salt. Remember things and if they apply they apply if not then they dont. I personally still want to visit EVERY country on the African continent. If I was able to stay atleast 2 weeks in each country then it would take almost 2 years to do but I still think it would be pretty dope to do, just so I could see (if even for a short time) every country with my own eyes.
I also worked with ICRC and as Latinx I understand exactly the feeling and need to discuss about our region, countries and cultures from our point of view far from the neo colonialism now in days. :)
Does the guest work for the UN?
Thank you both so much for sharing your powerful thoughts. I can? Somewhat connect with the young lady in her thoughts about the 'mental break' pains??? As a white american man (65 yr old) who has spent 30 yrs or more?? In human rights work? I wanted to hug you both, as 'grand daughters??? And ask forgiveness for "my people"? Most of my work has been across asia/sea/middle east — a few weeks were spent in S Sudan in a surgery clinic. Looong stories. For 20 yrs now, my home has been in Thailand. Blessings to you both!!! Love and hugs from a distant — "grandfather want to be'!!!
1. You were not an expat at all (you were a "hippy" – tourist). 2. The local people are friendly to you while you keep giving them cash (like on your video 07:45). Once you stop giving out, they become your enemies.
This shows a complete lack of integration. You lived there 21 months and still don't know that they are Central Africans and not Central African Republicans. It is well oo
African calling herself an expat in another african country. Lol
I worked for the UN over there for 3 years and my experience is really different than hers. And i would never called myself an expat. The people do not even seeothwr africans as expats
She seems deconnected to the central African culture…
Good and frank interview!
Thank you for sharing
Tell your own story Africa🌍✊🏿
Whats so funny about this ? Why do you keep laughing while talking about the atrocities that have affected their emotions?
Africa is still dusty and underdeveloped the Chinese are your Masters now😀😱😵
I feel her. It was very brave of her to share her experience, especially when it was overall complicated.
There's something she said though, that bothered me. She mentions her being African should give her some sort of priority (I guess she meant over white people or Lebanese/Chinese, etc). That's bullshit. The colour of your skin or your origins do not determine how well you will do in a foreign country. Your own personality and attitude do. You can tell she didn't do so well so her being African didn't really help, did it?
Now, I also live in CAR. I also perceive this country and its people through my own eyes. This lady obviously worked for an NGO or something of the sort. She mentions that she wasn't allowed to walk on the streets because it was dangerous etc. That's also bullshit because I'm a white woman dressed in local garments most of the time and I walk back and forth the city centre every week. 20-30minutes. I take different routes each time. As long as I make sure my handbag is securely attached (because the worst that can happen is that my bag is snatched by a motorbike taxi) and I smile to people and I reply when they greet me, I'm fine. Central Africans are not really the annoying type. That's because NGOs give a lot of importance to security and personal safety. I work as a teacher in a school, my income is way lower than most expats in CAR but good enough to make a living and enjoy life. I am learning Sango although my native language is French. I could do without as a French speaker but I chose to put in some effort to show them that their language and culture also matter. Those people (NGOs/UN) earn a hell lot of money, many earn around 10K€ /month in a country where minimum wage is around 70€/month. They supposedly come here to aliviate the pain and suffering of the locals but when you talk to most of them, they don't speak sango, they don't do their own shopping for grocery so they don't go through the pain of having to bargain the prices just because you are white, they spend their time in expats' restaurants, cafes, they hang out with expats and they drive around in fancy UN or NGO cars. They have holidays every couple of months so they can travel abroad and "take a break", they keep advertising 2000$-rent apartments on the local FB page and really have no compassion or mercy for the pain and suffering of the people of CAR. That's my own experience.
Is safe there ? You see the unrest all the time on media
Great content ❤️❤️
Hi. I am central african (not central african republican). I do understand that it was tough for her and I feel her cause even when I go home sometimes I feel disconnected, my country isn't the easiest to live in as she said (of course because of how backward we are because of the war history). But I kinda feel like she told her story with nothing but negativity. Like the food for instance, our main dish is cassava leaves which is not dry, like most of our dishes anyway. I just wonder if she really tried to pick out the good in her experience. It is true that we have a lot of issues to fix but I've met numerous foreigners who absolutely loved it there, I met a kenyan lady who was literally in love with C.A.R and went back often for holidays, despite living there during the war. I think such testimonies should also be given by people with different experiences.
Spicy Dry meat is awesome
This is so inspirational 🤍🤍🤍🤍 I'm sorry that you had to go through all of this from your home country 💛💛💛 you're such an inspiring African woman 🤍
