  1. For those who don’t know the term light skin is for black ppl who have two black parents. Women like Halle Berry & Zendaya are actually biracial but some ppl chose to ignore that fact

  2. FOR those talking about we have priviledges = please list them here ! As a 6 FEET 4 redheaded green eyed MLS man I earned everything I have = so please list what are people giving us and who are the people race and all giving us stuff ?

  3. I feel like the only light skin privileged that exists is for women lol light skin men don’t fit into this category and if they do it’s not because of being light skin , but being attractive which would be “pretty privilege “ also the light skin stuff was started by blacks not slavery. The fake information that everybody ran with was created by the woolly Lynch letter which was proven as a hoax. There were dark skin house slaves…a lot of them. The reason why most house salves were in the house for so many years was because those slaves raised white folks kids until they were grown and able to take care of the plantation. Not saying there weren’t any light skin house slaves but there were definitely more dark ones then light. Slave owners didn’t want their wives questioning if they had kids by the Help. Black men and white men created the light skin privilege when it came to women. Light skin Women struggle with being black enough, they tan when they’re already tan lol….only light skin Women have privilege. Dark skin Women and light skin men are the ones people don’t really like in our community

  4. There is no genuine solution for colorism given here. As a black person you can’t expect another black person to apologize for having “light skin privilege”. Currently there is no financial or any other privilege for being a Lightskin or Darkskin black person!! Colorism hasn’t been widely practiced since slavery, let’s not forget there was NO colorism in the black community during the civil Rights era! The standard for black has and always been come as you are! Stand up for each other! Only people who carry this toxic trait currently are self hating blacks who don’t understand how to showcase their inner beauty! Outer beauty will always be judged based off society’s standards which rarely have ever boasted or even acknowledged anything positive about black culture. Tension between light skin and darkskin is pure ego. Nothing concrete that truly divides the black race. As a black person I only see colorism as an excuse for one skin tone to talk down on another. Who is really writing off what Kodak or Kanye west say as law???? Because Beyoncé is in most black peoples opinions more talented than Kelly Rowland that there is something wrong with dark skin people???? Bro Beyoncé is much more talented than any of her other contemporaries let’s not perpetuate made up storylines to “prove” this fallacy. There is no general tension between light and darkskin. Most of the time you even hear team Lightskin or team Darkskin its literally a joke or meme that doesn’t correctly represent black affairs.

  5. here's no such thing as a light-skinned "black" person, unless they have Albinism or Vitiligo which is caused by a congenital disorder. So called light-skinned "black" people are technically (Mixed Race) not black.

  6. This is low self-esteem issues if we had privilege as light skin black people then women want be running to dark skin dudes and always picking them as partner y'all are confusing and conflating y'all love for white people with light skin black people 🤷🏽

  7. Im dark skinned and my sister is light skin like our dad…she is always pleasant and down to earth…she was mostly treated bad by other females for no good reason. I felt bad for her because she was singled out because if her complexion.

  8. I will say I’m sorry for passing gas, stepping on your shoe or accidentally bumping into you. I absolutely disagree for having to apologize for one’s natural skin color to make someone else feel better. Colorism is a problem that must be addressed but apologizing for your God given complexion won’t make the problem go away.

  9. Black people don't come in multiple different shades. They only have brown and deep-brown skin tones, with brown eyes and kinky 4c African textured hair. The only time that a black person can have 'light skin' is if they have Albinism or Vitiligo which is caused by a congenital disorder.

  10. Right about the Martin show. When I was younger watching it, I didn't realize it but as an adult. I realized how Pam was treated? And that's not right, even though I know it was a show. I find it interesting. That Martin doesn't respond to what people are saying about. How she was portrayed with regards to the colorism.
