Grenada’s Kirani James had full crowd support in the men’s 400m and overcame the lingering headwind to take the win over South African world record-holder Wayde van Niekirk and former high school star Matthew Boling at the NYC Grand Prix. #NBCSports #KiraniJames #NYCGrandPrix

@ResearchXProject2016

Go Kirani!!! 🩷🩷

@FeR-kt1jt

Sheesh! I might need to visit Grenada!👀

@JesseLockeHere2Do

Great job to James and van Niekirk. What shocked me though was that Bolling was just a stride and a half behind the winner. This dude may have indeed found his race.

@CoachTamba

Give Elijah Godwin more respect. Boling is a great athlete, but mentioning him as a Georgia alum without mentioning Godwin is abysmal reporting.

@acetofresh1

Kirani James is the most accomplished man in the history of the 400M, and I believe the greatest at the event, but it is funny how he’s won most of his races this year, and improved his times, while also having more in the tank—- yet armchair coaches think it’s an outlandish take to think he can win gold or get on the podium. The 400M is wide open this year. Kirani James, Alexander Doom, Steven Gardiner, Michael Norman, Wayde Van Niekerk all look very good at this moment.

@jameshardin8870

What happened to Godwin? He ran a 46…is he or has he been hurt?

@dennvision1353

Let's go Kirani James!!! dude is a contender year in year out. Hope to see him win big this year.

@Hensley_Jb

Bolingbis getting better and better. He definitely has the speed now he just needs that endurance, and to perfect that relaxation

@ellen9925

Good job kirani

@kensilverstone1656

You gave away the result in the summary above.

@dr.doomandgloom

For me he is the greatest 400m runner in history.

@travelwithsere

Love Kirani James. His sportsmanship towards all the athletes is refreshing to see.

@ZavienWills

Stop spoiling the winner 🗣️🗣️

@andycano5756

Come on Matthew Balding.

@andycano5756

Wayne needs to give it up. His injury deprived him of his best years.

@SammieSoSubmissive

🖤🖤🖤

@jaymula6660

His form has gotten so much better 👏

@GardenChess

No spoilers nice

@fredrivers7155

Where is all that success Matthew Bowling was supposed to achieve?????

Wow — that was a great performance by several talented athletes. Very entertaining.

@lolitafalana

Thank you for the silence at the start. I've been begging for this.

@vaticinus

Kirani James finished the race with half as many steps as everyone else 😂😂

@Xerion1

Fans: "Stop giving away winners in the title!"

NBC: "Ok. We hear you."

Gives away winners in the thumbnail

@thelebbies

Boiling 45.08 is really not that bad. I think if he works on more strength and pushing the last 30-40 meters. He can do mid 44s and he’s still young

@Jlndvr

Boling ran good. Can’t be mad.

@user-ty5em5lh6g

NBC updated the title… but still doesn't mention the top finishing American (Chris Bailey) but insists on fixating on Boling. SMH
