  2. Notice they don't mention the sale of slaves as trade, to which was the glory of your people and the source of there wealth! So one sided and only paints benin as a victim.

  3. Was Benin not involved in the selling of slaves?
Were they not involved in enslaving fellow Africans?
Seems to be missing from the Kingdom of Benin Full History for some reason.

  4. The Benin kingdom was an unusually cruel, tyrannical regime by African standards, notorious for brutalities that ranged from widespread slavery to the most gruesome forms of ritual, mass human sacrifice, including women and children.

  5. The Kingdom of Benin was a slave based society. Their wealth came from enslaving African people and forcing them to work on their farms and in their Gold Mines for centuries. The Kingdom of Benin was one of the most powerful slave traders during Africa's tranatlantic slave trade. The leaders of the Kingdom of Benin became rich beyond belief through kidnapping and selling black people to European merchants and used this money to expand their empire murdering and enslaving more and more African people.

The British banned merchants from getting involved in Africa's slave trade and used their navy to try to protect slaves from being sold by African and other European nations. As a result the Kingdom of Benin along with the Ashanti Empire went bankrupt as slave trading was one of the main parts of their economy. The British ban on slavery in both the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea has saved an estimated 50 million people's lives.

The Kingdom of Benin leaders refused to ban slavery and focused on using slaves to grow Palm Oil and continue to mine gold. The British invaded Benin to end this evil practice. That is what happened.
