  1. Poor old Napoleon III, famously deposed in the aftermath of the humiliating thrashing France took from the soon-to-be German Empire, would inexplicably live on for more than a century afterwards. Some say he held on for as long as he did out of pure spite, simply to assure himself that France would never be the world's top dog.

  2. Appreciate that someone is finally bringing to light the reprehensible actions of this canibal of a man. 15 million Congolese perished due to his greed and actions. It's imperative that we persist in revealing the heinous acts perpetrated by colonial powers. Countless Africans have suffered and died as a result of colonial exploitation. It is essential that these historical truths are acknowledged and shared. There are countless documentaries about slavery and the holocaust, but far too few about the attrocities of colonialism.

  3. Leopold was a demon! Chopping limbs of men, women, and children with no remorse shows the animalistic qualities of this "civilized " individual.

  4. Can you also do one on Haiti, because so few people know that they beat the French colonialists during slavery and fought and won against Napoleon but were bankrupted by France who forced the enslaved people to pay reparations to the French slave owners?

  5. Can you please do one on African independence from France and being forced to sign a treaty for the continuation of colonialisation in order to receive it? I am interested in how France set up the means to have army bases in all of those countries and the right to take action if their interests are under threat, as well as having first rights to minerals and forcing countries to put a significant amount of their GDP into the French central bank.

  6. What an enlightening documentary. Leopold II was no doubt both, to answer the question. He did some showy building in Belgium and had political foresight there, but he has responsibility for what happened in Congo since he was the boss. If he didn't know, he should have. Ultimately, that was his responsibility.

  7. Why do you have the picture of that evil man Leopold looking majestic? The picture of him should have horns on his head. He was the devil incarnated… pure evil!
