Kenya’s President William Ruto has defended his government following the criticism from the county governments that the national government flood response has been slow.
President Ruto spoke to BBC Focus on Africa’s Rhoda Odhiambo on the sidelines of the International Development Association summit in Nairobi.

Waaa, no medical supplies, food supplies, no drinking water for the victims. Certainly not the time to blame the victims. We must not ask toddlers and the elderly to "move to higher grounds" they're already surrounded by water, maybe helicopter airlift would make the move possible, right?

He doesn't care about saving lives he is eyeing funds for reconstruction after the disaster who cares if kids are stuck in their houses? where are the rescue boats and helicopters? overloading of equipment that is privately owned is none o the government's business. Where is the equipment bought by Kenyan taxpayers sitting in the navy and military barracks?
No president likes to do major changes because it costs a lot of money they cannot steal from, why not build proper homes, destroy slums za 1960 ?
