  1. The president leaves the country and goes overseas amidst a natural disaster, what is so important overseas or what kind of overseas engagement that is overwhelmingly important than staying in your country and providing leadership in a time of extreme need or what kind of meeting is so dire that the stakeholders would not understand if you cancel the trip or participate via something like zoom so that you don't leave the country in a time of need? The president has been advised that there is a high possibility that there is going to be heavy rainfalls that would cause a disaster and despite that he gets in the plane and leaves the country for foreign trips. Other leaders cancel or cut short their foreign trips, holidays overseas or any missions overseas to rush back into the country to provide leadership but not Ruto!

What foreign trip is so important not to be cancelled so that he's available to provide solutions to his country during a natural disaster?
The president leaves the country during a natural disaster, that's the kind of leadership you have in Kenya!! Even the other leaders are shocked that he's overseas doing meetings with them while his country is undergoing a serious natural disaster!!

In this case Ruto had several options but he chose the worst option! For example instead of leaving the country during a disaster, he should have something like a zoom meeting so that he can still participate in those meetings without leaving the country!

Ruto is a not a competent leader and he has failed Kenyans at every disaster not just this one as he seems to prefer to escape the country during the time of need! Ruto is the poster boy for poor and incompetent leadership!

  2. From what I've seen here, appeasing mother nature is not negotiable. It's us to follow its rules to the letter. I won't be surprised if what is next is a ravaging drought.

  3. Am a Kenyan. We are good in many things. But we are poor in keeping our drainage channels clean.we the common people throw our garbage onto roadsides, into channels and into rivers. Our leaders don't punish this and don't ensure the drainage channels are regularly cleaned during dry weather. Clogged drains force storm water onto roads yet we have so many unemployed youth who could be tasked with this. Water is obedient if directed where to pass but will brutally find its way when obstructed. Kenyans and especially those in Nairobi learn your lesson. Sakaja uko?

  4. Climate change ad associated vagaries are here with us.unfortunately the most vulnerable are the poor.they are losing everything.in some countries there are funds government ad corporate will power courage ad timely efforts.in others its every MSN for himself ad God for us all.utter neglect dismal planning ad foolish solutions.the very mentality that attends to drought ad natural disasters the pride of a country is the way it takes care of the most vulnerable ad the ev8dence is self manifest.
