Basically if you go into those recirculation pits (hydraulics) without a kayak you are gone

What you are doing is remarkable and should inspire the next of paddlers to take this to the next level. God only knows what that might look like though.
It's almost 20 years since I paddled there at a much lower and friendly level with lines and hydrolics that were consistent, stable and predictable.
I found that more than enough even after a week of repeated runs and familiarity.
This approach and style is beyond anything I've ever imagined possible.
