These are thing you need to find out before you travel especially to a new country. I was traveling to the Caribbean and knew I had to get a permit for a drone because I asked. And concerning bag search, they randomly do that, and if after scanning your luggage they pick up something they will open your bags. You see this belief some people have of entitlement,, it's a dangerous thing. Let me just tell you what scanning picked up and my bag was opened for at different times. A block of cheese, door lock, batteries among other things. You enter the airport nicely dressed but by the time you get through the scanning you are half naked. Now I travel with slipper, and is still asked to remove them. But that's the rules and you abide by them. Saying you never had that problem with this country or that country really do not make sense because no two country laws are the same. He reminds me of people getting on a bus to a Destination unfamiliar to them only to realize one hour into the drive they are on the wrong bus and start freaking out because its night and they don't have s clue where they are. In my mind I always think, couldn't you have asked a question? To say your privacy was being violated by they searching your bag? Guy, what planet you came from? Next time, stay at home You seem to forget 9.11. A lot has changed since then. Things that you could have carried in your hand luggage once upon a time is no longer allowed. Saying nobody told him he had to get a permit, is sheer ignorance and ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. For his sake I hope he learned a lesson, you are heading into a country new to you? Don't take it for granted that the laws are the same, ask a question and save yourself the embarrassment. Life never caters for everything we want when we wants it. It's just the way it is.
