I understand what she is trying to say but I feel she is making light of people's pain and it's unfair. There is no smoke without fire and you often get more empathy at work from men than women e.g.(maternity leave/benefits) The reason why people echoe the voice of the minority is to aniliate any form of prejudice and injustice. It's not a function of generalizing but a movement to stop something that is wrong and that mentality applies to racism and all other sensitive issues. Gender inequality in Nigeria is still major issue and the pressure ranges from body shaming to marriage e.t.c and oftentimes from women. That's not your reality doesn't mean you should trivialize it. A more constructive way to pass across this message is to celebrate women who supports others and encourage everyone to do the same!
I get her point but there is a flip side to the coin. I use to live in my own bubble of everyone is equal until I was discriminated against for being female in my profession. My mates( male or female) treat me as equals, my siblings do but my superiors especially themale still see me as missing some ribs. Sadly enough the female superiors in my profession don't care if the uncles drag you down, sexually harass and bully you…. Yes women don't support women is true! And it's on that flip side of the coin that I say women need to support women. But is there any unreasonable woman out there seek my support, noooooooo!!!! I stand with aunty Simi 😂
