Just ONE MASSIVE PROBLEM With The NEW Cobra Darkspeed Irons…
There is ONE BIG problem with the Cobra Dark Speed irons and NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT! I am just not happy about it. So many golfers have been talking about the brand new irons from Cobra in 2024 but for me there is one big problem and it will affect you.
The new Cobra Darkspeed are said to be a powerful distance iron with hollow body…

Am I being harsh? Should the performance out way everything I have said here?
I don't give a damn about the color coming off lol. I care about hitting it straight and long lmao.
Play with whatever you want. We didn't used to have cavity backs. We didn't have the choices you have now. Even most of the pros play with at least a players cavity. Are you better than a pro? Having said that again play with whatever you want to play with.
Dang, just looked at the lofts and no wonder distances are jacked. Too bad the durability of the finish is sub-par, might pick them up at the end of season for half the price. Great review!
I love black clubs and I own a one length Cobra forged black PW and the black one length SW and even though they have worn, I think they still look good.
But the strong lofts of modern irons I hate, bring back some more traditional lofts in game improvement clubs.
You hit balls with steel not with plastic
Mid to high handicap golfers simply want to see mid to high handicap golfers using these irons during these reviews.
Do you know how many reviewers these clubs have been shipped around to? It would be interesting to see how many people and how many balls they hit while reviewing. Its possible that compared to the average weekend player, those clubs may have 3 or 4 years worth of play on them already
If you know you hit the 5 iron 200 yards then when you are 200 yards from the green you. hit the 5 iron. What other 5 irons have done in the past doesn't matter. It's all about knowing your equipment.
If I could hit a 200 yd. 7 iron the heads could be faded pink. I have noticed looks are very important to the UK reviewers. No judgement. With what they want for a set of irons all expectations should be high from the irons.
Good for you. Durablity is very important. E.g. Soooo many words from YT reviewers on the "look" of the clubs", really too much. BUT I ASK "what good is a great look when new, when after a couple months, $$$$, and they look like beat up used clubs. Cleveland wedges I have owed for example, outwear the few other brands I had used. So perhaps give equal rating points for Durability. Maybe use this as a test: use practice / testing balls with dried on dirt, clay, mud on them. Say 10-15 shots. I found by accident this to be a brutal test at a practice range that did not properly clean their balls. Scratched & pitted clubs quickly.
If you eat to sell the 6,7,8,9, PW& G. How much ?
It matters. You are paying 1200+ for irons, that is an investment. Resale value will be horrible.
What launch monitor do you use ? Love this video!
Just got fitted. It was between thesr and the ping g430s. For me these cobras were perfect for my shot shape. Brilliant forgiveness , feel and sound
Try Hogans, they are the classic irons. Try the EX
Just been fitted today and purchased these! They were smoking all other brands within that price range!
I think there are better looking irons out there but performance wise they are unreal!
I’ve just tested everything over the past week or two (new golfer 6 months in). Tried the mizuno 923 HM, the high launch and even the 245. Ping, callaway and the works. As a newer golfer with reasonable speed I found the cobra everything I want them to be. Tight dispersion with good carry when you don’t flush it. And as a new golfer I rarely flush it. For me these do exactly what I need them to do. They forgive the bad ones, not necessarily for dispersion (which is great) but for distance. 7 iron Toe= fine I’ll go 170 just a little off line, 7 iron low I’ll go 160 but roll out to 180. As lesser golfers our bad shots aren’t always good strikes off line they’re more likely to be bad strikes and distance helps massively. Just my opinion
who cares about the color lmao
I was going to buy aylorade Stealth based on reviews, but the 5 iron feels flimsy to me, made me look at P-790s and Darkspeed
I hit these tonight and ended up purchasing them. 20 yards longer per club than my current set (p-790s). Forgiving. Beautiful finish. Great sound and feel off the clubface. Will the finish fade? Probably. But the performance was eye opening. I am 55 years old, and have lost some distance over time. These take me back to distances per club from 20 years ago. Sold.
I was just fitted yesterday and tried TaylorMade QI and mizuno jpx923. Dark speed not only left them far behind on the range, there were also much more accurate and forgiving. Anyone who talks bad about these irons doesn’t know much about golf
So…get head covers for them if you game them!!
