  1. This 'Documentary' completely skips any mention of the fact that one of the British cases for war before the Reduction of Lagos was to stop the slave trade in episode 2, which Sokoto was still practicing. If youre going to make a legitimate, educational documentary you need to concede on some historical events that maybe dont fit your agenda. Im not watching another episode.

  2. I'm mad they removed this from Netflix. I sat down with my family to view the entire series, made an event of it and it was gone. SMFH Let me go find the Blu-ray to buy, please I hope it exist.

  3. Netflix, please consider keeping this documentary on beyond the 9/30/22 expiration, especially considering the recent death of the queen. People NEED to know the full history as told from the African perspective.

  4. What has been good about Nigeria's creation? Better for all the constituent zones/territories break up along ethnic lines for meaningful progress. The Hausas & Fulanis in the North, have destroyed the fabrics of then Nigeria.

  5. This and the history of Africa by zaniab badawi should be compulsory documentary to watch in all levels of education in Nigeria and Africa at large maybe just maybe that white supremacists theory would stop .

  6. This documentary should be shown in schools in Nigeria and stop preaching the English please. Help our nation and culture have longevity. A lot of people don't know this but the writings used in black panther all those symbols belong to the igbo tribe in Nigeria, even Nigerians don't know

  7. Thank you for this fantastic historical documentary 👏. We need more of these types of documentaries on individual towns and regions in Nigeria.
May God bless the memories of our ancestors who lived, prospered, suffered, created history and died for the yoruba nation.
    Shalom

  8. This documentary also whitewashes the African narrative. I’m still on episode one but I haven’t heard anything about the multiple Africans that sold Africans into slavery. I also take issue with the use of the word slave when referring to enslaved Africans. I understand this documentary is not about slavery. That being the case they should not be mentioned if the breeze carries only the palatable truth many Africans can stomach. This is a Nigerian propaganda documentary. It is offensive to the descendants of the millions of enslaved Africans that many Nigerians continue to profit from. Dr. Henry Louis Gates in his documentary Many Rivers to Cross interviewed such Africans who admitted this “atrocity.” I will continue to watch and critique this documentary as I am descended from enslaved Africans.

  9. The best African Documentary we have ever watched about our country Nigeria. We watched it on Oct 2nd, 2020. Thank you Mr Olasupo Shasore for your impeccable work on this documentary. It was indeed a journey for us and we keep going back to watch it

  10. Having watched the series, I move that the people of the great old kingdoms now called Nigeria consider changing their country's name from the derogatory name 'Nigeria' to an original, appropriate African name.

  11. This is one of the best documentaries ever filmed and it is very suspicious how this has not been celebrated by the media in the UK or USA as they prefer there candy floss whitewashed BBC Samuel l Jackson cartoon on Slavery

  12. We also need a similar documentary for india, the British pillaged india even harder. India went from 20% share in the world economy to 1% share in 1947 when the birtishers left

  13. The Fuck???? Who the fuck directed this?? Why do they think Nigeria is the only place that was colonized? And they have the audacity to call it an African Colony. So stupid! AFRICA HAS 53 COUNTRIES!!! Cmon!!!!! There is East African British Colony and South African dutch/British colony, French Colony in Other parts of West Africa, a Portuguese colony in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and even Spanish Colony in Equatorial Guinea. The correct title of this should be The Journey of Colonization in Nigeria. Then it is more specific.
