  1. They can talk and copy other countries negativies but they can't copy their positives, it well o mr Jide you can't even open ur mouth wide and talk well bcus you know you are saying the wrong things

  2. Jide should read comments and use this medium to adjust his opinions for balance.

Indeed his position and utterances since Labour went on strike on 3/06/2024 is a big shame for an award wimning journalist.

  3. Just imagine the rubbish he’s talking about justifying Oshimole as best during his times being arrested several times! You babajede can you heard the Labour union if you can go and contest for president

  4. Jide, outside his salary at tvc he receives egunje from presidency plus brown envelopes he receives from politicians each time he visits them. He faught Gov Yahaya Bello for 7yrs but Bello was so smart he gave chieftancy title to his father. Bello's last yr in office Jide painted Bello angel and sang his praises.

  5. Otitoju is taking side in Labour/Goverment impasse. Employers of labour in Nigeria are exploiters. You pay them peanuts, you expect excellent performance. Remember Ray Ekpu once said "the Lords make the serves perpectually beggerly so they can look unto them for their daily needs." You cannot end corruption in Nigeria if you continue to under-pay workers. Do not turn TVC to APC apologist.

  6. U pple are so sentimental there, why ?Are u saying that president Tinubu has not goofed here? This strike would hv bn avoided if he had positively acted in time.U pple shld pls not back d president when he goofs.

  7. U pple are so sentimental there, why ?Are u saying that president Tinubu has not goofed here? This strike would hv bn avoided if he had positively acted in time.U pple shld pls not back d president when he goofs.

  8. Economic sabotage indeed. But politicians who have been stealing billions of dollars and Naria are not Economic sabotage? These group of people are the people who are saboteur of Nigerians. They are the people causing the problem .Instead of talking about the real facts facing ordinary Nigerians, including the public servants, they just talking about shorting down the National gride . I don't know why the Labour Labour is not represented in the discussion. For Nigeria economy to work, the Labour must be paid a living wage, and as well paid as and when due. Owing workers their salaries and pensions every month should be regarded as a crime and Economic sabotage.

  9. Jide are you ok, why banging on the desk like that, has national grid not been collapsing on its own before now, please be calm lets talk peace n betterment of nigeria n Nigerian people as a whole.

  10. Jide should shut up, why trying to shift the blame to buhari. How much did buhari left with the cost of fuel and how is sold as at today? What of the exchange rate as compared to today's reality. Tinubu's defender, you will defend and tire

  11. You guys are speaking as those who are is aiming for rewards from the presidency. The minimum wage has five years to be review. Is there electricity power in the country

  12. Jide have been reduced drastically in popularity simply because of political interference and unjustification comment to the plight of Nigerians. A big shame to him.

  13. But not in Nigeria, where light may go off when a complicated surgery is going on in theatre.

Even the National Hospital in Abuja and Aso Rock clinic have generators.

Essential service ko, paramount service ni.

  14. Electricity may be an essential service where there is uninterrupted light for years, like Europe, USA, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Canada, UAE, etc.

In those countries, unexpected putting off of the national grid may result in serious death or serious injuries because they are not used to power outage and available generators.

  15. An essential service is that which may result in instant death or serious injury if deprived or not instantly made available, like ambulance, emergency healthcare, Police protection.

Even the best and biggest hospital in Nigeria has generator for emergency use if electricity goes off.

So, what is so essential in our public electricity.

  16. An essential service is that which a human being can not do without in a particular community.

Can we Nigerians do without public electricity ? Yes Yes Yes.

Blackout and power outage is part of out lives. Every household, office, company, organisation, government agency, National Assembly, even Aso Rock has generator.

  17. It is obvious he has very little knowledge of what he is saying by saying Central Bank workers provide essential services.

    What a strange assertion !!!!

Where was that essential service by CBN when Emefiele deprived the masses access to Naira and many die as a result.

  18. For his information, electricity workers or employees are members of NLC. Therefore, NLC has every right to engage them to join strike since they don't provide any essential service.

  19. NLC engaged airport workers to join the strike, and all airports were shut down and nobody could travel.

Was that infringement on fundamental right to freedom of movement ? No.

  20. He is talking of fundamental human rights as if he is a lawyer. Does he know that every fundamental right, such as freedom of movement, freedom of association etc, is not absolute.

  21. Basically, the essential services in Nigeria are health care (hospitals), fire service, emergency rescue services (like NEMA) and the Police Force. Finish and nothing more.

That is why NLC will never force hospital workers and Policemen to join strike except they decide to go on strike on their own, like some medical workers occasionally do.
