Gods… I'm so tired of this. I love swords and stage fighting and i found her through her fantasy heroine shorts. But this… this shit… there's no world where this is okay. Why can't people be normal anymore? Why do so many creators be such shitty people? Wish I'd known sooner or I wouldn't have bought her damn book…
No one is more obsessed with policing women's femininity than Terfs, and then they have the nerve to act surprised when one of them gets transvestigation in a bathroom.

Dammit, I just brought her book for my birthday because I found her shorts and was interested in the good reviews it got. I can't believe it, I just gave her money. Fuck, I'm so angry.

33:33 It's also worth noting she did this while having the personal opinion the photos were of a GIRL who had been "confused" by queer ideology. As in she posted topless pictures of someone she believed to be a girl, which would be, were she correct, distributing Child Pornography. So I say we agree with her and have her thrown into jail for manufacture and distribution of CP, while respecting her victims pronouns and status as a man. This is no different than trying to hook up with someone you believe to be a minor, even if the "minor" is actually a 32 year old police officer. Your belief and intent was that it was a minor, thus a crime, regardless of the reality.
Thank you for making this video! As a young trans person myself, who also happened to be a bit of a fan of Jill Bearup, I'm glad you enabled me to learn about her bigotry and unsubscribe from her channel.
thanks for making this video. i wasn't aware of these issues, and honestly it feels a little bit like every one of the people i look up to have someone awful to hide, these days. i hope this gets out to more people, and they start to care.
On Russia: It's ironic since Soviet female athletes were the targets of smear campaigns during the Cold War since they were perceived to not fit Western patriarchal standards. I also don't support the explosion of Russian athletes as US & Western athletes dope just as much if not more. I think that attempts to demonize Russia are partly why they got so defensive over their boxer. That said, what they did to Khalif Imane was wrong & this is given that Algeria & Russia are relatively close.

The algorithm recommended Bearup to me again, as it will at times because I’m into gaming, sewing and now dabbling in leather working. I was about to subscribe to her and binge watch a lot of her content when this video was recommended to me. Needless to say I am not subscribing to her and I am not about to watch more of her channel. Thank you for making a thorough and well researched point.
This was recommended at the perfect time… I'd just bought her book 😬 Fortunately it was only last night so I was able to cancel and get my money back. I refuse to support bigots.

Oh damn, it’s wild and a bit ironic that I found Jill’s channel because of her video about logical fallacies and how misinformation is harmful. It was a one off video unrelated to her authoring or medieval combat but i stuck around anyway and I’m just disappointed that she seemed invested in truth but obviously that was a one off thing too.
I did know I didn't want this.
Nevertheless, thank you for covering this as I'd rather not give any support to transphobic creators.

It sucks that I had zero idea of this. I thought she was fine, only watched her reviews on clothing and armour because it was fun stuff. Immediately checked for myself what the story is and ultimately unsubscribed. Also massively disappointed in Tom Scott for that nothingburger of a response. That's not what being an ally looks like.

Thank you for this video. I was one of those who had heard some earlier accusations but fell for explanations/excuses she offered up. I don't generally get into creators beyond the videos they put out and so didn't see all this further evidence. Thanks for laying it all out. It's wild how many authors and youtubers I'm shedding all because Rowling won't just go away and acts as a lightning rod of hate.

I remember seeing a video on her a while ago and got uncomfortable with watching her vids, realised it had been a while and I'd forgotten the details of what she did wrong and if she's changed. Sad to see she's not improved and actually got worse.

I don't think people realise how much work and effort goes into using SelfID
At least in Norway when you change your legal gender, you get an entierly new personal identification number.
This means that you need to speak with your banks, the motor veihicle authority and any other services that is tied to you and this number has to be coordinated and change appropriately if you're not to be locked out of your stuff pending weeks of wait time for it to resolve
It's not just filing a form, and poof!
It's an entire process and a lot of work. Men with bad itentions would not go through this just to creep on women, they are looking for the easiest way possible to get access to someone
