its actually not splitting hairs as you suggest. he says he is a capitalist. That means he would not support protectionist or regulatory policies that get in the way of capitalism. If he were to prohibit some form of trade with another country that would not be capitalism. It is actually much simpler than you make it out to be. Your argument is a red herring in this case as it refers to his behavior. He is not treading middle ground he is moving exactly as he campaigned…I hope he does not work with China on diplomatic or military endeavors but trade is part of pure capitalism so he is doing exactly what he said he would do in this regard.

With the exception of delinquent countries, Peru does business with any of these countries as long as it is beneficial for both countries.
