This week Janet and Neale McQuiston from Kitchen, coos and ewes agri tourism business in Galloway, join us for an in depth chat about their farming life.
They are the holders of the breed record for a beltex ram at £65,000 and they run a booming agri tourism business which saw 7,000 people visit the farm last year.

Congrats to Cammy, Lizzie and your little family! I grew up in a cold drafty three story (and a basement) farmhouse (c. 1800's) and it kept us hardy too! Look forward to an update on the move! Very exciting news!
Omg…I loved our creaky stairs – actually I think dad loved them more, especially to keep track of us kids coming and going (especially after curfew)! And as Iona noted, you can tell who's on the stairs!
Cammy I will come from Australia and work with you for your farm experience
Sounds such a lovely place to visit
Iona. The Ayrshire vacuum.
As always such an interesting chat. Think you might have some good ideas for all those sheds you have now Cammy with a wedding venue top of the list 🥰😂

Just tried watching you on Hetherinton and h something…. They could learn a lot from you and Iona on how to interview and keep the audience entertained and interested…. I could only get halfway through!
Hi cammy, just been watching your latest fed by farmers, is the camp site you stayed at called castle bay holiday park?
Happy new year 🎉.
GREAT CAMMY IS TAKING LIZZIES FAMILY NAME
The audio version of this just ends at 1hr 12mins abruptly.
Thanks for the video. Great start to 2025. Some times its hard to tell if you are serious or having a laugh, but for sure 6:10 dont do that. That is a instant cracked windshield.
Great pod cast.
I have cousins at Corsewall Estate that I have holiday cottages at Kirkholm . They must have clients that must go to Cows n ewes.😊

Cammy your dead right about john Cowan.
Iona is quite right about high tea. A high tea has some hot food included. When we were children visiting out great aunts in Fife, going out for high tea in St Andrews was a big event.
Cammy, your smile when you talk about the farm…. Brilliant to see
Fantastic podcast. Love the sound of the tours to see the gorgeous Highland Coos.
I love these podcasts. I learn so much!
Oh no, Cammy. Do not put hot water on a frozen windshield. There is a strong likelihood of it shattering. It's not made the same as glass dishes for cooking.
For fuck sake fisher them where from this 😮
I have to say I have enjoyed every Fed by Farmers podcasts as they are all varied. Well done Cammy and Iona for bringing this to us you are both brilliant. 👏
Some old Edinburgh Tenements had a different height step about the 15th or so on the common stair. The purpose of this was to alert the occupants when some one unfamiliar with the stair would trip on this step and was an early form of burglar alarm.
I hope those American aren't breeding the Highland to a Texas Longhorn!!
Sorcha is absolutely beautiful!❤ I saw HGP when he went to see her. I so wish I was able to travel abroad. Only 1 place I want to go, Scotland!!❤ HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉🎊🥂🍾, CAMMY and IONA 🎉
Happy New Year to you all. Really good podcast. I enjoy every one.
Brilliant as always. I've pretty much subscribed to all your guests not because I know about farming, but because I want to. Can't wait to see your new farm featured in a podcast Cammy.
The pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in November of 1620. They came to "escape religious persecution " and they were really just crazy people who arrived just before winter. They would have all starved if not for the pity of the Native Americans. I grew up in the area.
Happy New Year to you all in the Fed by Farmers world 🙂 You are all delightful and have to the best guests! I have really enjoyed your podcast.
I've been to the Coos too, only live 30 mins away. Lovely experience and even lovelier afternoon tea. Love Neales early morning videos when he's calving and he's rt, the sunrises are usually spectacular!
Great podcast again Cammy.
Cammy, the American Declaration of Independence from England happened on July 4, 1776 .
Iona needs educated
A really interesting and informative podcast from two folks that were being very modest indeed about their successes with their cattle and sheep. I just wish that we might have heard a little more about both the cattle and sheep.
PS I love the story about the elderly cow being a show-off for the visitors when they come calling!!!
Are u goin to get pigs in on a b&b system
Yet again excellent podcast excellent guests and such a relaxed lovely chat. Happy new year to all 👏🏼🐄🐑🌾🤩

I’m absolutely over the moon you have Neal and Janet on ,as I visited kitchen coos and Ewes a few years ago and loved every minute of it. It’s a fantastic day out for all ages, the cows, sheep and farm area are so well cared for. The food we were served was delicious. The whole experience was outstanding.
I jump between KCE and Dalscone in the morning during the lambing and calving season it’s so informative and entertaining.
