Despite its severity, the international community has largely overlooked the crisis, focusing instead on conflicts like those in Ukraine and…

  1. I just finished writing my Master's disseration on the DRC and the UN peacekeeping force, MONUSCO, this month. Great video and I look forward to more 'silent' conflicts being covered

  2. It seems this reporter is giving out misinformation from his introduction because for him to say the world has ignored The Congo, is not a fact to rely upon.

Ghana and some African Countries and even some foreign countries have been there to make peace. Unfortunately, those involved in the war have not help to install peace. And no one can force peace on people who are not ready to accept it.

Talking about the world paying attention Ukraine and Russia war and Israel and Hamas, are of recent happening and the world cannot ignore it.

  3. BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE CORRUPT LEADERSHIP IN THE CONGO AND THE WEST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ON GOING WARS IN THE DRC CONGO.

WE MUST UNIFY, ORGANIZE, AND HELP OUR PEOPLE!!

NO ONE IS GOING TO HELP THEM, BUT US!!

WE MUST STOP HELPING EVERYONE ELSE AND HELP OUR OWN PEOPLE FIRST!!

  4. Of course if they had supply and demand that the US wanted we’d gladly help! Too bad we’re not interested in sending our sons and daughters to fight another war in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.

  5. no one is even thinking about CONGO, doesn't that sound strange? Even the black americans are more concerned with ukraine and russia… Don't you find that concerning? The focus is only being put on… this is really crazy what is happening… This means even through deathbalfsf and destructions, right under everyone's knows the crys will go unanswered… this tells me a lot about the decisions I need to make as a man!

  6. Its a complex situation because the truth is not been told . thanks for your information.
I think its clear that their are many global actors of great nations that have a steak in Congo resources and funding this war and using Uganda as a scale goat .

  7. To the world these people look so stupid! Once they got rid of the devil's! If they simply United and come together they could pretty much control the world! How incredibly stupid! And the Western world love this because they don't have to worry about fighting against the unity, they will just support the winners

  8. europeans have a vested interest in the resources of Kongo so they have to keep them divided and war torn so they can't become a power entity themselves. If they stop fighting and defending european democracy they would all actually be able to free Africa as a whole from the stronghold of european colonialism.

  9. The resources are the reason for the war, and the media makes sure to keep this war out of public sight. As long as these resources are available to the rich, the war and slavery will never end.

  10. The world isn’t ignoring the conflict, it’s fueling it. As you described, the outside world takes advantage of the conflict, probably primarily for control over the abundant naturally resources.

I believe the conflict could be ended by ending resource extraction until peace is achieved. This would flip the incentive structure for the warring parties. This would itself require external help, of course—to feed people while work stops—but your question was about external help.

Obviously the bloodthirsty, money worshipping capitalist powers would never provide this kind of help, but maybe China would have the will and capacity.

  11. Sad. Congo could be powerhouse in the world with all its natural resources. But decades and decades Congolese leaders value their own bank account more than their country. Western countries and China follow ancient old politics, make locals to fight eachothers, relax, watch the show and pick up the fruits. And it goes on and on and on… I am European myself. I hope Congolese one day realize "We are shooting our own knee with AK-47, this doesn't make any sense". Only Congolese can stop this themselves, no point to wait help outside, it won't come.

  12. We all know how the west benefits from the abundance of precious minerals which the Congo possess. The west are not Africans, so to them it doesn't matter who or how many dies, all they care about is the money that they'll make as long as the country is unstable. It's really sad to think that there are people in the Congo who have never experienced peace and tranquility. Really sad.

  13. Africans must stop. Killing each other for personal gain of wealth and geed black Africans please reunite bring peace and harmony to Congo. The west wants Africans to do this so. They can claim the resources and further gain full access for land. The Congolese have suffered Genocide due to lack of security and protecion. USA has it fingers in every conflict and pies. going. The USA need secure their USA boarders. I hope the Universe bring peace for the congo and punish the greedy Menecary who are causing rape and pillage Menecary

    can step in am

  14. Please, please, PLEASE keep updating the world. We in the US are drowned about Israel slaughtering the Palestinians but nothing about African issues specifically the Congo wars. "We The People" should, need to know what's going on in Africa. Sometimes I think the Israel-Palestinian conflict is intentionally orchestrated to cover the wars in Africa.

  15. The main reason the west doesnt help out is that there sick of being blamed for all of Africa's short comings. If America or Europe were to put troops on the ground within short time the narrative would be turned around into being about colonialism. At some point you just have to let others find there own way to a peaceful resolution. The Russians tend to play both sides or whatever angle that helps them bleed the continent of its valuable mineral resources. The Chinese see Africa from a business stand point as such they lend large amounts of cash, build infrastructure, educational programs (chinese language) At the same time expect lucrative mineral extraction deals, mineral deposits or strategic locations for military bases are always given as collateral when borrowing money. The Americans and Europeans (except France) have chosen to be content with the use of diplomacy to get what they desire from Africa. The western approach is by no means some universal moral high ground. It comes from years of being told that African issues are for Africans to figure out. Its the same reason the west has given up on trying to help Haiti by putting troops on the ground so instead they send cash. For this exact reason U.N has asked Kenya to step in, the Kenyans see it as a quagmire that will do more damage to there reputation then help the Haitians in the end.

  16. We must be realistic here when informing because this war as been controlled by Western countries. Why are they not condemning mercenaries from France & other Europeans but talking about WAGNER'S, why Kagame & Museveni of Uganda are in good book with Westerners, Why EU approved €300 million as loan to Rwanda & sign a deal on minerals when Rwanda doesn't possess even a kg of minerals under its soil ? Anyway, a day will come

  17. Still don't understand why these African countries don't learn nothing from us African-Americans. All these African country saw what we dealt with in America and never learn

  18. Indeed, resources plundering of the DR Congo is recorded in history as far back as the 1400s. My humble faith based community development efforts along the Congo River since 2004, had been delayed by the Conflict Mineral Wars and Rebels since 2014! Kisangani, – a now isolated central Africa hub port with four harbours, – is cut off from the world. When will the Church and Christian mission groups start ministering to the eastern DRC? Peace, peace … ?
