Biden is toast
Quite blown away by Ali's story! It's fantastic, thanks for sharing it. Definitely going to read this.
Thank you Pod Save The World for all the knowledge you share and bring in the guests.
I feel for Invictus games. They got Harry and Meghan who care more about getting attention and self promotion. Then the actual cause/ games. Dear me the palace should rescue Invictus from them.
Any offer or deal put forward by Israel is a lie. Any red line by the US is also a lie. Two corrupt murderous regimes totally in tune with one another despite the blah blah blah.
What happened in October does not excuse the slaughter of 40000+ men, women and children.
WHY is Trump allowed to run for president?
Love 😍 Ali!!
A US State Dept report says that Is* may (may!) have broken international law in Gaza. No kid. Of course, the State Dept can't really be sure …
By the time they decide to publicly report being pretty sure really all things considered … presumably the recently paused (not, as some have reported, halted) shipment of 3,500 munitions to Is* will have been made. Although it makes little difference really since that is around 1 per cent of the munitions that Is* has already dropped on Gaza. Presumably I* also has large numbers of munitions stockpiled for further attacks, and still more for use in self defense.
Although the pause will make no difference to the killing presumably Biden hopes it will make a very significant difference to voting in the upcoming Presidential election.
Shame, USA, Shame.
Fabulous interview! I knew that Ali Velshi is a very unique talent but I didn't know about his very interesting family history. Thank you!
The UN just passed a resolution that Palestine is qualified to join the United Nations. The US ambassador voted against it. Shame, USA, Shame.
Solid guest host & guest this week. Ali was fascinating, & he sold me on his book. And Nika! She's a gem. Hilarious and endearing.
I love Crooked Media and almost all of the Podcasts. I particularly love PSA and PSW. I’m Canadian and try to keep on top of American politics because it has a huge impact on Canadian politics. There are fools in our Country who think they are Republicans and who worship the orange fool. I am very proud of Justin Trudeau having the courage to stand up to India. We must stand up against bullies. Being polite doesn’t mean we have to be pushovers. Great show Ben and I am happy to hear Ali’s perspective as well. Keep the content coming and keep us informed about Gaza please. Thank you Ben and Ali!
BRASIL!!!! This podcast is one of the best places to go for an overview of what's going on in the world, but I've just realised that you missed something BIG this week, along with almost every other media organisation. In southern Brazil there's a metropolitan area of 3.5 million people that is currently under water (with more rain forecast soon). I know that there's an awful lot going on in the Northern Hemisphere, and that people are now fatalistically taking climate change as some kind of fait accompli, but come on, guys.
IT WAS AMERICA NOT HAMAS.
#Velshi
you shameless soulless liars they didn't agree to negoitations there have BEEN negotiations this whole time, they agreed to a deal, a deal that CIA Director BURNS had already signed off on! that you are nowing trying to pretend never happened because it blows up your propaganda narrative that itn is Hamas who are the obstacle to piece and not a fascist theocratic g-sidal government on the other side who's intentions are explicit…….. what are you?? I don't know, butwe see through… you can't gaslight young people this way anymore; but I don't know what you are or how you sleep at night.
WTF …..
Watching this I realize how much Mehdi made the right decision by leaving MSNBC and starting his own media company. Because even Ali has to keep tiptoeing around his condemnation of this genocide. And it has been hard to listen to the PSA guys lately caveat everything they say by throwing in how much they understand the israeli side of this, when we are entering the worst phase of this genocide which has already been horrific and unforgivable. For everyone who feels like they're going insane over the two-sides-ing, go check out Mehdi's Zeteo where they have not been holding their punches on this topic.
After Hamas agrees to ceasefire… terms that weren’t offered by Israel 😐. I understand you have your bias but please do better, your audience expects more objectivity from you.
13:36 Who initiated the war through a genocidal pogrom on October 7th, Velshi?
All of this time I thought Velshi was Palestinian.
3:54 Nice how y'all avoid the fact that Hamas literally wrote into their "agreement" – in which Israel literally had no say in the parameters – that they could send all the hostages as DEAD BODIES back to Israel.
But, no, I'm certain this omission isn't an indication of your bigotry against Jews.
The ideological capture of segments of the so-called left in the United States by literally genocidal, Islamist rape cults with their Al Jazeera propagandist pummeling the airwaves is just fucking insane. Only demonstrates just how pernicious antisemitism in the west really is.
Hey, kids, how did Arabs come to control the totality of the SWANA? Why did Jews get murdered by white people for not being white in the holocaust?
"Palestine" is nothing but Arab colonialist revanchism.
President Biden is allowing netanyahu to totally destroy Biden's historic achievements and legacy. Snap out of it President Biden. As a supporter of yours, I will accept a democratic Israel, but definitely not a war criminal such as netanyahu. Don't screw it up Mr. President.
Someone tell me: How will we know “Hamas is destroyed”? How exactly?
”From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Am I an “anti-srmite” now? Fine. They’ll be making very popular “anti-semite” tee shirts soon, and we’ll see the “Fuck the draft” case of California v. Cohen reversed and more rights revoked on behalf of these Zionist thugs. Good plan guys.
You're in NY. That's a Zabars's mug😃
Nika Kovac, i voted, best of luck from Hungary!
Starving children have lifelong damage to internal organs as well as their brains. So even if they survive, Israel will have condemned the entire Palestinian people to slow genocide because the next generation will be unable to function normally, thus creating a society that is unable to support itself. The children who have been starving for months are already irreversibly damaged in a variety of terribly hidden ways.
Slovenia also has Pogacar and Roglic, two of the greatest cyclists in the world.
Loved this episode! Thanks Ben and Ali! ☮️
Let’s not just go after Israel for not being a democracy for banning Al Jazeera. Canada, France and a bunch of other European countries banned RT.🤷♀️
1:08:17 I am a little embarrassed to admit that I knew Slovenia was in the Balkans but I didn't remember exactly where. Thanks to Nika's interview and a check of the map I am now aware that Slovenia borders Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary, which I think will imprint it's location in my memory.
Thanks so much for the Gaza updates. Love Ben and love Ali. Thank you, Ali, for pointing out that Oct 7 was not the start of the horror. Glad I'm not the only one who has NO idea wtf Biden is trying to do.
I'd so appreciate it if you help us sort through unending confusion on a few points:
1) Is there any evidence that Netanyahu (via Trump, the Saudis, and other intermediaries) is behind Hamas funding- going back several years? 2) are we now playing semantic games over the word "invasion" when it comes to Rafah? – sanctioning whatever horrors Israel is unleashing there as long as we don't call it an invasion? As long as we don't use the word "invasion" for Israel's assault on Rafah, Biden and Co. can pretend their red line is still intact 3) Some big report on humanitarian crisis/war crimes etc was supposed to be released today- commissioned by the US. Then we abruptly heard that it's been indefinitely delayed. Why? It seems as though they're hiding something pretty horrific.
1:01:54 I presume the signatures need to be from citizens of European Union Countries. If you're a European Union citizen and believe women have the right to bodily autonomy (which they most definitely f**king do), please take the time to sign this petition! And if you've already signed it, you're a certified champion!
I didn't know anything about Ali Velshi's history, but listening to his story was fascinating and inspiring.
China hosted the last summer Olympics and now France in July
Amazing episode! Appreciate your coverage as always! That being said, could you touch more on the conflict in Sudan as you do with Israel/Gaza/Ukraine? It’s a massive humanitarian disaster that I feel like no one is talking about.
From my small, first and only direct experience with Al Jazeera, they were the only news org on the ground in Belgrade in 2016, when I taught refugees there Survival English. It was super cold, everyone was hungry. That news org at least made us, the volunteers and those we were trying to help, feel visible. Later, yeah, Everyone arrived. The money too. But in the early bitter months, it was only Al Jazeera. And I'd never heard of them before.
16:53 Biden's Holocaust Remembrance Day speech
Hamas didn't unleash the terror on Gaza. They committed their own atrocities. The actions of the Israelis are also their own. Hamas did not force Israel to bomb civilians and starve children. It is what Hamas wanted, but it wasn't inevitable that Israel would respond to monstrous violence with even more monstrous violence. The Israelis have agency over their actions.
