All DDP said was that he was the real African Champ cuz he brought the belt back to Africa unlike the other "African" champs
DDP should've never had the belt. Man could barely see out of one eye and the other was completely swollen shut. 2 takedowns that did absolutely nothing but an unintentional headbutt(causing a cut beside the right eye) and a punch (causing a cut above the left eye) while on the feet were about the only damage.
Strickland rolled through Izzy for 5 rounds like it was nothing. Pereira TKOed both. Got knocked out by 1.
DDP hasn't been a vocal champion outside of South Africa because he knows he's only a champion on paper till he defends his belt, which it has also taken a long time for him to recover whereas Sean Strickland fought Paulo Costa and Won by a landslide.
