  1. Wow, filing for Social Security at 62? Bold move! But hey, I’ve got $125k just chillin' in my emergency fund, itching to start making me some money. Honestly, I'm torn between playing it safe or just diving in. Who knew deciding when to start would be the easy part, right? Time to make that cash work for me, not the other way around!

  2. Considering the shaky economy, I'm keen to know best, how people split their pay, how much of it goes into savings, spendings or investments. I’d be retiring/working much less in 5 years, and sometimes earn up to $160K per year, but nothing to show for it yet.

  3. Like it or not, allowing in/nationalizing more immigrants would help with that age distribution problem. Create more taxable income and a greater influx of young people as well. Also rich people should probably pay more.

  4. I’ve been working and paying into Social Security for over 40 years, and there’s no way I’m waiting any longer to take it. I’m grabbing it early—might as well take the sure thing. At this point, I’m all about investing in myself and putting money into the market. Over the years, I’ve learned that building real wealth comes from making smart investments.

  5. please people please look up what social security was put in place for. ITS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED AND PAID TAXES INTO SOCIAL SECURITY. I HAD UP TO 75 DOLLARS A WEEK WHEN I WORKED OVERTIME. THESE POLITICIANS CRIMINALS POLITICIANS. took it upon themselves to give social security to everyone. IF THESE CRIMINALS POLITICIANS DIDN'T START STEALING OUR TAX MONEY THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED PAID TAXES FROM OUR PAYCHECK EVERY CHECK. IF SOCIAL SECURITY WAS BEING USED THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. IT CAN'T RUN OUT OF MONEY. CAUSE THERE WOULD BE MONEY GOING BACK INTO SOCIAL SECURITY. BUT SINCE THESE CRIMINALS POLITICIANS DID THIS. OF COURSE SOCIAL SECURITY IS RUNNING OUT OF MONEY. CAUSE THEY ARE TAKING OUT MORE MONEY THEN WHAT IS GOING BACK IN. EACH POLITICIANS BELONG IN prison it wasn't their money to be touching in the first place.

  6. social security benefit is derived from formula based on earning

90% of first 14k gets credit toward benefit calculation
30% of the next 71k gets credit toward benefit calculation
15% of everything above 85k gets credit toward benefit calculation

though the FICA (social security tax) is linear, the benefit is not, heavily
benefiting those with lower income group, and largely discounting high earner

so for politicians and media keep on pitching that the rich are not paying their "fair"
    share is just pushing misinformation.

  7. Why would these people expect Jeff to contribute a bigger contribution? The dude is NOT going to apply for social security payments ever. So its only fair for him to skip paying entirely.

What's not fair is that higher income payers are likely to get leas than their fair share at retirement age. Hey, fair is fair. There is no such a obligation for rich people to give money to the poor. Try asking Nancy Pelosi to share her money with you.

  8. Stop talking about SS It's some kind of disability program. It's a program that all Americans are entitled to and all Americans have paid into it at one point or another.
