Is The Gambia SAFE? (I didn't expect this) | Africa Travel Vlog

It’s our last day in The Gambia. So far our time in The Gambia has been nothing but pleasant and we have felt unusually safe in the small African country. I could certainly see why The Gambia is often referred to as The Smiling Coast of Africa. When I landed in The Gambia I didn’t have many expectations. However, the people of The Gambia were…

  1. Love you vlogs and I appreciate you shedding a different light to Africa . I grew up in The Gambia and as a kid I had nightmares about kankurangs. I commend you for how you acted and not letting some idiots taint the picture of the whole country. Keep up the good work and ps why didn't you visit Banjul the capital. 💓💙💚

  2. I like the idea of Kankurang and I am thinking of dropping out of graduate school in Los Angeles CA and relocating to Gambia and be one of them for a semester. What do you all think?

  3. For sure this girl went there to have sex with multiple black men. White women are now forbidden by Gambia to enter the country for this very reason.

  4. Gambia is an awful place been living here for well over a year now trying to escape to somewhere better than this dump. Anyway this is totally normal some are legit in this machete bashing ceramonial crap for the dick chopping but some are trying to scam people and yes they would be aggressive as all Gambians are aggressive, offensive, nasty, scamming, thieving, disruptive people. Place needs carpet bombing to start a new.

  5. I really don't like the way you explain things, in your shit hole country you would have never gotten back your card. go back to your country demon.

  6. When I was in Gambia years ago, during Xmas, we stayed in a compound in Bakau. We had a visit from young boys in a kind of procession after dark, about 7pm. They knocked on the door and we were confronted by one or two machetes! Some Gambian friends with us explained what was going on, we gave the boys some money /sweets, and it was fine. I visited Gambia twice, stayed in compounds
away from the hotels and had no situations where I felt unsafe. All I would advise is that the cost of holidays is far in excess of what many people can earn, and I saw some tourists being very demanding /rude. Some people are offended by being photographed / filmed without their permission, that applies anywhere really. I think you were just unlucky, and noticeable on a deserted stretch of road.

  7. And my question be like, is UK safe for someone with dark skin like me living there…? because I have seen many videos on internet UK police racial profiling black people all the time 🤔🤔
