  3. Mind you the place where you are staying was a village not even that long ago, like 70/80s it was and still called “Ngor village” in the latest years they built so many buildings and are still building it.

  4. You don't use to that. iIn Jamaica, we call them back up man, they help load the bus or cars, and it's you they pressure for money, when it should be the driver of the vehicle. 🇯🇲 🇯🇲

  5. As a Senegalese im quite embarrassed by how they "scammed" you with the prices, you really need an honest guide that will help you navigate through those prices

  6. Hi, Really cool video. Does anyone know how the fee works for the visa on arrival? I read the cost is 50 Euro. Do we pay at the airport to a cashier before going to the immigration agent ?

  7. The view of the city from the monument is breathtaking.
Well.. it's evident most west African countries are more conscious of the mis-treatment their ancestors went through, the sculptures tells it all.

  8. 😂 I'm from Louisiana and went to Dakar although I visit SA alot…if you think people hassle you for money alot😢 wait until you get to SA😂
Word of advice…stay out of public restrooms😅😅

  9. 33:24 Beach topic : Austin as a big traveler myself I've also noticed that beach culture is not so widespread in most African countries except few of them like Senegal, Cap Vert and some others. Just like you, I was kind of wondering why is that and when I got to know people better and also elders taht really had some deep knowledge I've learn that most of the traditional tales that were passed on generations to generations talked about superstitious stories about the ocean. That's when it gets very interesting cause very old people told me that most of the stories about people not coming back from the ocean are metaphors about Slavery when Ancestors were kidnapped and taken to the sea and never return ! Most young people don't really know where they got that tradition from and some who knows out of decency won't tell you and will find some light deflection to not tell. This was me sharing what I've learned when bonding with people across the Continent. Peace and keep spreading those good vibes and videos bro
