How many here are upgrading their phones every year? I’ve been upgrading only every 3 years, but will probably move to 4. Not going to help Apple and the like drive consumerism.
If the iPhone 17 and 18 get the ProMotion display, it’s logical that Apple would push the regular 16-series launch. Otherwise, they’ll cannibalise the Pro model sales, which may not be a concern in the US, but surely everywhere else.
they've been trying so hard so that the average user is incentivized to buy the pros. this to me just looks like there wouldn't be a lot of reasons to buy the pros over the base models, so they'll stagger the releases so the only option you have for a while is to simply buy the more expensive one.
I mean … they do it with their iPads and MacBooks so why not the iPhones? lol
I was just thinking that Apple may split its releases when the fold comes out. With that said, I was thinking they would do the fold early 2026 and the rest of the phones in the fall as usual. Either way, I don’t think Samsung will like this as they are so use owning the top of the year with their release. That won’t happen after next year!

I am loosing more and more trust in apple. My iphone 16 pro max gets extremely hot since the last update. Random restarts, siri is on vacation, when asked siri it asked me if chatgpt would you prefer
If I was to hazard a guess, probably helps to manage production line volumes. If Apple are gonna be shifting more to India then this would help those releases moving forward. Also less money to invest in inventory so helps manage free cash flow. Not that Apple has a cash flow issue, but something that shareholders would look for at annual results time
I wonder if Apple would ever adjust the names of the iPhone lineup. Maybe turn the Pro into the base model, the Pro Max into the Pro, the base model into a “Lite” model, and cut the Plus in favor of the E. That release schedule and the claim that most buyers opt for the Pro Max made me wonder if now is the time to shake things up.
I’m gonna laugh my ass off when Samsung copies them 😂
Apple should keep releasing all their phones at the same time but wait 2 years between releases. Give themselves an extra year between new generations to make these releases more interesting and innovative.

7:29 if LLM scours the web for info then it would be a great opportunity to have a small section to talk about something very specific and absurd that you guys repeat on every episode and later see if any LLM picks it up. Something like iPhone needs X medicine to run faster and after a while check ChatGPT and ask if iPhones need medicine. Basically make LLM hallucinate 😂. You guys have that power!
