Interesting discussion. Wesely Mohammad did a piece on the connection between Ife and Islam, focuses mainly on the genealogical traditions of the Yoruba and a few related peoples of Nigeria. It discusses traditions tracing their origin to Egypt, Mecca and "Canaan". Interesting piece but could use a good deal more anthropology research.
