I side with Sheldon on the compensation. The Telcos even though not entirely their fault are supposed to be blamed including the government(for policies). I think for national security reasons Telcos shouldn't be allowed to rely on only one upstream provider. Even if they do they should have an active backup infrastructure for scenarios like this. I also think banks including all essential services should have a robust system which should be able to operate internally if we're cut from the world. This is why digitalization shouldn't be just a slogan but backed by strong policies. Not E-This and E-That. I maybe wrong in attributing some of the blames but we should have a solid infrastructure. Not just slogans.
A service organization should compensate for a service failure emanating from their inefficiency or failure to provide a service. In this case the outage is not the Internet Service Provider's fault. On the other hand, they must have incured huge losses within the outage period. Asking them to compensate customers in addition to the loss is an overkill. It's like trying to run them out of business. No compensation to anyone in this case.
Why should your bank compensate you for lack of internet ? Do they deliver internet services ? 😂😂They themselves are victims of the lack of internet . If anybody should compensate it should be the internet provider scanty and Sheldon.
Sadly us Ghanaians are behaving like its nothing this is the third time that we have experienced this internet outage, and as for compensation even when Mrn gives you free internet bundle you cant use it so I dont like anyrhing free from mtn

Starlink is the only way out. But the NCA is delaying their approval to start operating in Ghana. This is very sad.
