INTENSE Day in Annaba’s Casbah (dangerous)🇩🇿Is ALGERIA Safe? عنابة
Is Algeria safe, a question that NEVER crossed our minds….However, we travelled to Annaba and was told NOT to visit the Medina as people can be hostile, unfriendly and in general unwelcoming. I mean, Annaba’s most dangerous hood…really wasn’t that dangerous at all.

I advise you to go to all countries except this one. It is terrible, women are not safe there, the mentality and people are miserable, the ideas are sick… etc…. It is a country that is not fit for life ever. It is a cancer developed by France and escaped. It is just a French state and colonial waste without history. 🇩🇿🇫🇷

عنابة يا دولة Annaba, country
I am from Algeria and i love it
Annaba have notable presence of French architecture, albeit less prominent than in cities like Algiers. This can be attributed to the later start of French colonization in Annaba (1832) compared to Algiers (1830).
During its 132-year presence in Algeria, France drove significant urban development in Annaba, resulting in the construction of numerous French-style buildings. These include the Cathedral of Saint Augustine (Neo-Gothic, 1881), the Palace of Justice (Neoclassical, 1884), the City Hall (Art Nouveau, 1908), and the Regional Theater (French style, 1878).
Beyond public structures, numerous French-style houses were built, characterized by their ornate facades, wrought-iron balconies, and large windows.
This French architecture in Annaba stands as a historical legacy of the colonial era, a reflection of the French cultural impact and an important part of the current urban identity.
However, French colonization also had a dark side, with the Algerian population subjected to policies of cultural assimilation and economic exploitation.
Today, French colonial architecture in Annaba evokes mixed feelings. It is appreciated for its beauty and historical significance, yet it is also recognized as a symbol of the colonial past and the oppression suffered by the Algerian people.
Contemplating French architecture in Annaba requires considering these diverse perspectives. It represents a significant part of the city's history and a reflection of the complexities of the colonial past.

Really happy you enjoyed your stay in Algeria. I agree that getting a visa is ridiculously hard and overcomplicated. I plan to going back to Algeria as soon as possible again because I liked it so much every time I went. Do you mind if I ask which of the Thermal Springs you were considering going to? There's one near my home town that the water is ridiculously hot.
