  1. Because all women belong to the King and he he actually take her and end up producing a prince or princess, your family will be recognised because the son/ sons have equal potential of succeeding the reigning Kabaka ( king). In England, its different because royals are ranked in hierachy at any given time, for example Prince Charles was ranked #1 to succeed the Queen. In Buganda, all the sons of the reigning king have equal potential to become king. The king may secretly thru hiw will suggest his heir and that son will be considered but its not binding. There are three clan heads ( out of the 56 clans) who perform the process of chosing a new Kabaka ( king) when he dies. Each of the 3 must fullfill his traditional role and perform the required rituals at perfection. The heir to the throne is spiritually selected from the potential sons. The ruling spiritual angels and guardians select the king and will do it 1st thru the clan elder known as Kasujju Lubinga, who is also a spiritually hereditary clan leader, who interacts with Buganda deities ( ruling Angels, guadian and spirits). Remember what happened when the British Queen dies. The British Mornachy had to inform the guardian angel who has a residence in one of the British palace's flower garden in a bee sanctually. The angel who moves around in bees was informed that Queen Elizabeth dies and prince Charles will succeed her. refer to youtube. ) Almost similar to Buganda Kingdom. That guardian angel of the royals is called Namuzinda , who likes moving around in bees, wasps and male red ant soldiers. Also remember burkingham palace had 7 sanctualies for 7 raven birds which represents the 7 arch angels ( in Bible the 7 angels surrounding/ guarding God's throne). Its similar to Buganda belief that revolves around the Creator ( Katonda) , his son, and the 7 great angels ( misange). These 7 angels also have roles when selecting a new Kabaka thru the intermidiary Kasujja Lubinga. So basically not anybody can become a Kabaka. That lKingship comes from God/ Katonda thru his arch angels. Thats why the construction of Kasubi tombs has taken 13 years so far. Rituals, materials, geometrical angles, the constructors… all must be to perfection, Thats why sometimes some phases had to be redone and redone until the spirits gives a go ahead to the next phase. So, Unesco funds some areas but The Baganda funded most of the money where the surplus was used to construct 2 blocks of story buildings in Mengo.
