Inside Africa's Largest Floating Village! (GANVIE)
Inside Africa’s Largest Floating Village! (GANVIE) is a video about me exploring Ganvie which is a lake village in the Benin Republic, Africa, lying in Lake Nokoué, near Cotonou. I take a trip to this village and explore how people here live. With a population of around 45,000 people, it is probably the largest lake village in Africa and is…

Beautiful..but I thought mokoko in Lagos was the biggest
Whats the local language and do they have a malaria or typhoid issue?
nice video TAYO
I love it but I will not be staying here
If everyone toilets drop their thing striaght in the water…I can't imagine how dirty and full of germs and bacteria that water is..
Merci beaucoup tonton c'est le village de ma maman ganvié ❤❤❤❤
I don’t understand why nobody grow the trees so selfish city everybody throw junk to river but nobody care fck stpd
Very insigtful video indeed. Thanks!!
The banana lady is cute.
Videos like this make me want to travel and see the world more. I hope one day I can be in a position where I can travel a lot. The world has so many wonderful places
There are also floating villages in Vietnam and fishing villages in New Brunswick, Canada, and in Imbo, Burundi. I heard Benin is a honeymoon destination for travel agents.
It was created during slave trade to survive they make homes river water
Wait, if indeed the feaces drop directly into the water, how has the community survived Cholera?
It's the toilet part that will make me stay very far away from that area.
Even before I watch it all, someone tell me how they defecate and do their farming
Amazing
In the hotel if you go to the bathroom and what goes into the toilet goes into the water, does the same process take place in the houses? If it does why would you fish from those waters? I don't understand.
Mukang macouliform
Abay ang sanitation????
Africa Maldives…lol
Ganvie is beautiful 😍.
I just went there recently. It's interesting seeing your video. In mine they are always waving and yelling "yovo". You can blend in a lot easier than I can. But I really liked it. They were very friendly to me.
Now this is interesting. I would be entirely stressed everyday because large bodies of water scare me
I want to say THANK YOU so much for this incredible video. It has shown me how it looks like in different parts of this world.
Shameless Nigerian government.
Imagine naira struggling with cfa.
Wanted to go, but then i saw the hotel toilet. Im ok seeing this place on Google Maps.
Imagine actually believing these sub humans built America🤣
Very educative channel. I learn new things every time I watch. Kudos uncle Tayo👏👍
The painting is 12000, the night is 12000
I think they just want that cool $25
Do they hve schools for the children there. Or they hve to go somewhere else for schooling
Me fascinan los pueblos flotantes. En general Son increíbles.
Some one tell me how do these people cook food using firewood , charcoal or gus coze idint see smoke and besides fire wood is risky as it can burn down these temporary infrastructures
Wow interesting
kudos as always Tayo. wow, seems everybody does things better than Nigerians. it's not always about money you know. Our Makoko is cramped, dirtier, unorganised and they don't get the concept of tourism. This place is chilled. The white man will turn it into something else
What about toilets
What is the means of lighting here (electricity)?
How do they handle their carvage?
This city is twice as old as the United States
I fear for the hygiene in the village, especially due to the fact that they release their excretions to the water.
How does sewage & sanitation work in these homes on stilts ??
This place looks so interesting. But I was surprised that fecal matter is dropped into the water from the hotel toilet. I saw kids swimming in the water – isn’t it contaminated if all the villagers’ fecal waste is dumped into the water also?
everything is ok apart from the toilet
Though it looks nice but the water is unclean no waste sewage in the area.
Great video, though I'm sure you were afraid to eat 😂😂
Should find ways to treat or human waste not to directly drop and/or mixed with the water.. such a good place to develop for tourism
Very nice. It reminds me of my home country, the Netherlands. This must be the 'Giethoorn' of Benin
Nothing will ever stop you again, because almighty God is on your side
Amazing our strong our people are!!!! Wow
Your love banana always 😂😂
