In 2007 the exchange rate between the Cedi and US dollar was, 1 US dollar for 0.93 Cedi. The Ghanaian Cedi was greater than the US dollar. From 2008 up to this date the Cedi has lost it value against the US dollar. The current exchange rate is 1 US dollar for 14.4 Cedi. The Cedi will continue to be devalued by the US dollar. We know why this is happening. Ghana is a great country but have you seen Liberia? Liberia used to be the economic gateway of Africa. Most Ghanaian leave Ghana to live in Liberia for a better life. Just do your research on Liberia.

13:24 I’m glad she brought this up. Africa is not synonymous to Ghana. Just like in Asia there are different countries. India is not the same as Japan or Malaysia. So there are differences in each African country, unique to their culture and economic status.
I’m hoping that more and more BIack people begin to realize that we have to put small differences (that really don’t matter in the grand scheme of things) aside and invest in BIack economies (via direct investment, tourism, expat, etc) because it ultimately benefits all of us globally.
