  1. this would happen the same in my grandma's generation Balkans as 3-4 decades ago Balkan Parenting at the country side was closer to the African than the western one.

shoes and beatings would be part and parcel except that unlike the african parents we would also get our kids drunk too as in the balkans it was inconceivable to see a child not drinking alcohol in the countryside.

  2. Maybe next time you could try this: If Timmy Turner had African parents.
(If you haven't watched The Fairly OddParents before, I'd suggest you do that before making the video.)

  3. Caillou were invented and drawn by Canadians, if I recall correctly.

When I became an aunt for the first time at the age of 13 and my sister-in-law gave birth to a boy and he was eventually 3-5 years old with the time passing, he always watched television, he was particularly fond of Caillou. He always grabbed the remote and did whatever he wanted. My eldest brother and his wife couldn't raise him properly. He kept looking at Caillou with me and my mother, who is his grandmother. I never liked this show, my mother loved this show. But I knew there was something wrong with the series. The way Caillou's parents never punish him is really unrealistically banal and can have serious consequences for children who see it. My parents are Portuguese and raised me strictly. I was always very obedient to my parents; I wasn't allowed to touch the remote control, let alone the phone. I deliberately didn't do that, otherwise I would be whipped with the belt.

My nephew is now 21 years old and he doesn't have a high school diploma and consumes drugs. My older brother kicked him out of his house. He now lives with his drug friends.

I was born and grew up in Germany because my parents are immigrants and when I later emigrated to Portugal at the age of 20, I didn't see my nephew again from 2013 until today.
