Make Γfrica great again

πAbsolutely appreciated.
I wish him all the support and love for his vision and contributions to the film industry and the life giving and saving which storytelling and story sharing provides.

Maybe throwing off the shackles includes throwing off white supremacy including the baby Jesus story
I would like to see you acting with Uzor Arukwe-Nigerian actor
OWN OUR STORIES!!!
Big up β€
What story ? another warlord, slavery or civil war nonsense? We have no story
Idris is more cringe than cool imo. He's like the British Dwayne Johnson. Completely full of himself.
As Africans we can tell our own stories. We don't need a European to do it for us. There's an abundance of talented actors in Africa. They need the opportunity, not someone whose already received them. I'm tired of watching non-Africans portraying African characters.
Good man
Sounds exciting and so much needed. Thank you Idris. ππΎππΎππΎβ€οΈβπ½
That is so Amazing β€β€β€ who better to tell our stories to the world β€
This guy just keeps getting better at what he does. Good luck Idris!
Is this the same BBC who employ/employed racists and paedoes?? Not interested. π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬ off!!
what's funny about this is that Africans don't like western black people
Bravo!!! ππΌππΌππΌπ
That's great for Idris. I've always felt Blacks in rich countries don't do enough to help promote Africa, or even visit / understand the continent.
My guy!β€
I really Like Idris, good to see this initiative. He wanted to get out of the "white/african american liberal trap", to only tell stories about how US. Britain is bady, colonize everything ans so on, as some of "reparation", but man, countries have their own storie despite opression times. The same happens here in Brazil, worse, the brazilian artist like to stay in position of opressed to be part of diversity casts in Hollywood, or just tell bad stories about suburbs and favelas. But there're many stories that could been told even about poor communites, that is more than "poor comunities". I felt that society need more than ever good histories, inspiring stories, folk stories, and idealistic, myth and allegoriy stores. But I don't believe in the "representation" bullshit as we have been told, because as had been happen here, fall in identity politics, that is just a american bullshit ideology, but I believe in cultural storytelling, the people tell the story in the ways they wanted, not how some ideology says that would be.
Idris elba my man.
Thanks for coming back home. Salute
Good riddance. These guys will never be british
Come to Uganda Idris
go there bro… please go and dispel the such horrible, negative narratives of Africa and all our countries and people. Make us the proud and wonderful people that we truly are, dispel the stories that and go on to make many of us hold white europe and america in awe, on the fake fake fake versions of our history and ourselves. please go go go….
Beautiful! He's well equipped to tell the stories of west Africa. Great choice.
I love this. Plus the backing track. I speak to foreigners aboard and some still have limited ideas about what Africa is like. One person was shocked when they asked which airline I use, and I say Ethiopian … and the response, I thought Ethiopia is poor. I didn't mean to laugh but couldn't help it. Africa is far from perfect but it's rising. (Idris don't tell them haha)
I'm going to Europe to tell our stories too.

You running away to Africa in case you get summoned to court in America for the diddy case
Africa is a continent. There are 54 countries in Africa with different cultures. Where are you going?
Typical BBC, whilst Idris is talking they go on to show people from Alkebulan jumping and dancing, that's exactly the problem! Smh. We are more than ''jumping and dancing'', so stop that. Of all the things that could have been shown whilst he was talking…SIGH
Good for him and for us. Wish more celebrities would give better use of their fortune like Idris is. God bless

This is terrific. I look forward to watch incredible films coming from Africa. Best of luck in this endeavor.
Excellent – there's more to a country than colonialism & slavery. This country is rich in stories beyond this one view of the country & what the people have endured.
Thats awesome Idris!!!

In our digital, hyper-transient world, investing in "place" can be so counter-cultural. Good on Idris for some place-based learning/relationship-building.
Africa needs our investment. Is the future!
Brilliant!! I love this!ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
Come to Zambia.
