  1. They’ll never accept (Africa artists) if you not making the West money, 💰 all this big Nigeria artists are now modern slaves in the music industry, even if they get awards for it. Who cares ply of trash 🗑️ Africa have lot of genres. We should continue to seek recognition from the West. They own the markets.

  3. Burna Boy actually poses real danger to Afrobeat.
Burna Boy said he is not doing Afrobeat. And he is filling big arenas around the world. So, many Nigerian artistes are now doing the 'FUSION' thing, to, maybe, get the same result as Burna Boy.
I saw a recent Nigerian Top 10 list on a Nigerian website, and decided to check out the tracks. Only 2 tracks were Afrobeat, (Showa by Kizz Daniel and a track by Phyno.) The rest of the tracks were a boring fusion of Trap music, Hip-Hop, Rap, Dancehall, etc.
Our artistes think the world would accept nonsensical fusion from us the way Afrobeat was embraced.

  4. One problem is immaturity. Plus, Wizkid and Burna boy do not see themselves as ambassadors. They have made money, but that's it. They will not have the enduring legacy like Fela Kuti.
