Icon of the Seas: How big is world’s biggest cruise ship? | BBC News


The world’s biggest cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas, has set sail on its maiden voyage from Miami, Florida.

It measures 365 metres in length and weighs 251,000 gross tonnes.

  1. It is a very impressive engineering achievement, but if it's full of shops, water slides, bars, and casinos, isn't that like visiting somewhere like Las Vegas?

  2. How is this allowed to be built? There are so many emission regulations around every other vehicle, but these monstrosities are allowed to exist.
