Denzel has so many Oscar worthy performances.
As much as a movie could, showed that being a Black Man was much more than background, education, the way a person spoke, being a slave or being 'free'. At the end of the day they all wanted the same. To live and die as MEN.

I used to get this a lot in my youth. I’m a project baby but was far more advanced intellectually than a lot of the other kids around me so I used to get called white cause I could articulate and comprehend so well. That shit crazy! Teach y’all kids to no better so they do better
