Regarding the comments about Kate – in Stephen's apology (in which he never once said he was sorry) – he states he does not make fun of other people's tragedies – even though untrue — would he himself not class it as a personal tragedy if his wife was having an affair and not want people to make fun of it? – The soft interview with Prince Harry shows where his support lies.
Jokes are meant to be funny, dark humour can be funny, but spreading non-starter rumours to get the rumours started again is not funny, he knew she had had an operation and he knows from comments he has made about friends of his that after that you leave them alone.. but clearly he has one set of rules for people he knows and gets offended on their behalf and a completely different set of rules for anyone else.
Jokes about the photoshopped photos perfectly fine. But jokes when he knew someone was in recovery from an operation… that should be off the table in the way he made them.
And his non-apology shows that he has no remorse, which makes a lie of his statement "i do not make fun of other people's tragedies"

You make jokes about Biden's memory but Trump literally answers questions with nonsensical rants. He was asked are you lonely and went on a five minute tangent about Thomas Jeffferson. Yeah you do the Trump jokes after but the cognitive dissonance is crazy. You need to be better Colbert. This is embarrassing.

Some Catholic Colbert is: guilty of defamation, slander, bearing false witness, accusing women of adultery. Talks about his faith but does not do the walk of faith. He claims he is a Tolkien fan — well, would Tolkien approve of him? Doubt it. Spreading lies for gain — like Sauron, enjoying others pain like Melkor. He claims he is a Catholic, but he is no Christian and he when he walks out of church he leaves his faith there — in his daily life he abandons it. Hopefully, he will be accused of adultery, lying and deceit on a public forum very soon — then, he will know how it feels to be mistreated. And Hanbury and her family must sue this creep.

Colbert is one of my favourite comedians and few people are as anti-monarchist as I am but treating someone's marital problems as fun gossip is tasteless. It was always pretty easy to predict that there was something more wrong with Princess Kate than they had admitted, so I don't understand how people didn't think they would end up with egg on their faces.

Many of you are crying that willy did not have an affair. Interesting part is there is no evidence that he did not have an affair. You cant take willy's word or kp's word…they are not reliable sources. Moreover, kate is not a reliable source either. And there is evidence that they are not trustworthy…case in point a jigsaw puzzle of a family photo that never was real and posted as if it was real.

I hope Colbert makes jokes about all the feigned outrage here. If you look at the comments 11-12 days ago, immediately after the show but before the cancer news, there are very, very few comments about the royal family. I saw one or two that were mildly or politely critical, and legitimately so — at the time. Now the torches and pitchforks crew will never watch again, as if most did in the first place. His ratings will just go up.
