The chief’s wife’s face was priceless!! She’s not with the games 😂
This was one of the best by far. I was amazed at the amount of history with pictures shown and the birth certificates …..blew me away ….
very interesting about dark secret…….its amazing
Best family record keeping . Am happy for Hugh .😊
This was so touching! Im in tears.
Wait. Chieftaincy is not royalty if I’m correct. Definitely a title of great distinction however but not of royal blood as far as royalty goes.
When you talk about “the slaves”….they were ‘people who were enslaved’.
Absolutely beautiful story!
Daughters of the Trade
He is a descendant of the people that conspired to kidnap and sell my people. We will never forget.
Why are pictures blurred?
Most interesting family historythis show ever had.loved it. Loved to see that Pieter found a strong independent African woman to married. Apparently he didn’t forget Gus family in Ghana because he had intentions to go back and he didn’t forget he had children. Hugh looks like his great great grandmother and his mom ( Anna ?)looked like Pieter. I might be a touch confused. What a great colorful family history.
He is blessed to see photos! Incredible.
This is one of the best love stories I’ve heard of during this controversial time, it should be a movie for sure, what a completion with a happy end🎉❤
This is a great story and awesome detective work!
The blurry part is crazy work

Ok, so his Fante that makes sense
Wow. what a beautiful story and journey for Mr. Hugh. But stop with the blurring, please. If you can't show the photos, just leave them out! Your're giving me a G.D headache with the blurring….
The resemblance to all his distant families was amazing..
Why are making a big Problem about the blurring of the picture.
Stay what the story . A picture is just a picture.
This was an absolutely fantastic family history. As Hugh put it Colorful!
Why does the video go blurry in some parts?
On first sight you can ascertai that the people of the villag are his relatives.
What wonderful and amazing finds in his family history. It's nice to know some people with means are interested to know where their beginnings started and have the means to do so. Well done and very touched. 🎉
What wonderful story!
There are lots of Quashie in Tobago and Trinidad and Tobago. All of the Quashie's are related. You are probably my family. I am from Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago. The quashie's originated from Ghana I believe they are Ashanti tribe. We are all related. Do you have family in Trinidad and Tobago?
Someone please re-edit this video!! This is one of the worst ones I’ve watched with the blurring of the video with Hugh, and pics shown at the start. It’s irritating.
You'll be able to see all those photos if you subscribe to their streaming service….
Generational Wealth at it's Finest….. Great Journey
That was Amazing
This video was probably made more than a decade ago, I can tell the environment was not crowded like it is now.this documentary just pulls you in
What a wonderful story! So happy Pieter turned out to be a stand-up gentleman.
The blurring has occurred during the most interesting parts. Do better.
Wow! What an extraordinary story. Thank you for sharing this. My husbands family are from Sekondi and very good friends of the Philips family growing up ❤
What a beautiful journey! Hugh is so generous and articulate. I hope he shared his new-found insights with his Ghanaian relatives/village so they know they weren't abandoned.
The gods are drunk from all the gin they give them that’s why they are not powerful.
Wonderful Story!!! I’m so glad he was able to get all his questions answered in the end and it was extremely suspenseful that the great great grandfather obtained the birth certificates of his 4 children and left everything to them!!! It was certainly a story that had a beautiful ending.
This is a beautiful story.
