Informative👍🏾 about the Rinse part you’re absolutely right because I tried it after watching your Vdio and it work well. Therefore i recommend Rinse before boiling it, Thanks 🙏
In Nigeria we call it Zobo, we boil with ginger, cloves, pineapple and sometimes orange also then add sugar at the end
I like the way you cook very good job
Where can I buy this in Washington state?
Hi my name banta njie from Gambia thank you
I’m Jamaican, and we refer to this as sorrel. We ALWAYS boil it with ginger. Sometimes I add pineapple to mine. We add red label wine and some J. Wray and Nephew white rum, and some sugar. If we ferment it we add a little clove in the bottle. Best drink ever!!! 😋
I am from antigua 🇦🇬 we boil it with ginger and a few pieces of clove not much clove not to much clove and finish it the same way you are finishing your sorrel with the vanilla extract and sugar
TFS…you don’t say how long you boil it each time?
As a kid I drank this during the holidays popular on the Island.
👌 nice drink
This looks so delicious. I make a winter version by boiling it with ginger, cinnamon, cloves and a few cardamom pods. It's very warming if you are looking for a less boozy version but still feel some warmth from it. It's delicious!!!
This is a well known drink in the Caribbean. Well lived too around December
The sorrel, a native plant of West Afrika, is the flower of a plant belonging to the hibiscus family. It was used by our Afrikan Ancestors for its health benefits, and also served like wine during celebrations and feasts. Sorrel has far more health benefits than cranberries because it’s a natural blood thinner, regulates blood pressure by relaxing the arteries and blood vessels, as well as contributing to the alleviation of several cardiovascular issues. It is also rich in vitamin C. Drinking it pure is best, but adding ginger/a dash of cayenne and adding a natural sweetener is also good. TFS.😊😋
Great!
