  1. The Papua New Guineans being nasty have never lived overseas and dont know the hardship of trying to put together something close to a mumu without the vegetables from home readily available, no stones and no backyard to dig up your own pit in. Thanks to this Missus some other Papoooah New Guineans away from home have been able to get ideas for substitution…thank you for the nod to Mumu. Appreciate it.

  2. Pineapple??? Normally it's vegetables and greens. Mumu is a traditional way of cooking for special occasions past down from generation to generation in papua new guinea, It's good to keep the original recipe where our ancestors used.

  3. If you put it in the oven then automatically it does not count as Mumu. Mumu is a dish that's cooked in a pit – covered in Dirt. This is basically a roast/bake or something to that effect.

Nice try though. It's nice seeing your take on it.

  4. Meh sampla blo mpla no passim 1pla mumu lo life yet but comment osem ol expert.🤣🤣🤣🤣Leave her be. She just wanted to recreate a somewhat similar dish to our local PNG mumu. We add ripe bananas to our mumu, she adds pineapple. Theres no harm in that. So long as its a satisfying meal. Yall could be more helpful by sending in your mumu recipes. I knw shed be happy to try it out and show case it in her channel. 😇😇

  5. At least we get the picture, let's just say it's a modern way of making mumu, I love the way you made your own version of this cooking, cooking is about creativity, if you don't like to add certain ingredients to it just leave it out, you don't have to make a fuss about it, people have different taste in making something new and respect that someone does not speak the same language as us and pronounciation will obviously be different 😊

  6. Lol pronounce the country correctly and we don't use pineapple in mumu. Stop misleading your viewers about how we do our mumus. You could have said it's your take on Pa-pu-a New Guinea's mumu. We don't even use kales – you could have use other greens available next to the banana leaves at the Asian store. We don't mix chicken with pork gross 😤 🤮🤮… and we like our pineapple fresh

  7. It doesn’t matter how you pronounce Papua New Guinea or when you add pineapple to your mumu dish. At least you try to keep this food culture for PNG going on. Next time use vegetables like carrot, capsicum, spring onion, ginger and garlic to your mumu dish because I know this are available in your local supermarket. Thank you for sharing this video.

  8. Lmao don’t ever put pineapple or kale in a mumu ever again. Chinese bok choy and greens work better as an alternative if you cannot find taro leaves ✨

  9. If you add 5 times the amount of coconut that you did you wouldn't need the pineapple as it would be already sweet.
Otherwise a good spin on the dish.

Thanks for featuring it on your channel and happy easter from PNG.

Ps. It's pronounced Pah-pooh-ahh New Guinea.

  10. Cooking in an earth pit is what makes it a mumu. And I've never heard of pineapples being used in a mumu either 😅
Sorry but this is definitely no mumu

  11. Tbh, I've never heard of a mumu in PNG where they add pineapples but it's your take of a mumu and it does look delicious! I have tried this out in the oven before but with fresh coconut cream and without the pineapples. You can use chicken stock instead of salt and add some grated ginger, garlic and chopped up onions and a teaspoon of curry powder to the fresh coconut milk before pouring onto the tray.

  12. It's pronounced as it is spelt, PA-PU-A New Guinea. We don't use taro leaves,we use edible greens and we DO NOT use pineapples.
